Dave. Please. Start the McDavid line. Don't try to outsmart yourself.

Apparently Sportsnet is against racism. Stunning and brave.

Good lord this is nauseating. I was kind of excited about this playoffs to. Never mind.

No kneeling!

You can have your black players touch a guy kneeling, but no kneeling!

This brings more negative attention than just letting the players kneel. The other leagues are letting it happen.

Just kill the national anthems before the game, I say.

Yeah, unlike those racists at TSN, right Hal Johnson?

They should have had Hal drop the puck.

The Oilers are really playing great in this game so far.

Excellent effort.

So ready for this game.

I think McDavid was ready and everyone else is in the clouds. What a gong show... I thought these days were behind us. One more goal against and we're in full on meltdown mode.

Wow, way to leave a guy wide open right in front of the net. Again. That's three times now & all three in the back of the net. Tough to fault Smith on any of those, but still...maybe get Koski in there to try to get them to wake up.

Yep, 97 and 6 both got embarrassed behind the net. Also, does 77 and the rest of the team think Toews is too old to pay attention to?

Great call starting Smith Tippett...I mean he knocked off the Hawks with you 7 years ago so obviously he’s the clear choice when Koskinen was lights out against CGY. Can’t blame Smith for all the goals but he completely effed us giving away a freebie after we had just scored and tanked the momentum

We have home ice in this series. Why the F do we gotta hear that stupid goal song in our home games?

The playoffs should have defaulted to Koskinen until he lost it.

Lets get the one bad game of the play offs out of the way straight away. Some brain fart play by everyone in that period, perhaps they've believe some of the hype and this brings them back to earth. Possibly the worse period of hockey they've played this season.

Theres no bump for home ice really, other than familiarity with the building, the boards. The lighting with the extra screens is going to be different.

If the Oilers are writing their playoff story with this first period as the plot, it's going to be a short story.

Starting Smith was a miss, and so is d zone coverage. That looked like Oilers from 2014 . We need an unlikely miracle on Manchester turnaround.

And I think as a small reward for destroying the Hawks in the regular season standings we shouldn't have to hear their goal song in games where we are called the home team.

Okay. Tough pill to swallow, that first period. No team in the NHL should be taken as a cake walk. Wake the beep up and realize that this intermission. You aren’t owed anything... you want to get past these guys and into the ACTUAL playoffs? Do it for yourselves... do it for the guy who sits next to you in the locker room. Do it for Colby. Wake the heck up. Brutal period.
