Oh, hey, way to play that puck Smith.

2-1 Jets.

No, Larsson was at fault, as you can clearly see Smith gesturing to him where he was going to play the puck on the dump-in. What utter stupidity.

So Smith bobbling it didn’t play a factor???

If Larsson went the way Smith told him to, he gets his stick on the puck, and that Jets player cannot set up his buddy coming in from the slot. It wouldn't have mattered if Smith bobbled it a bit.

Smith wasn’t directing any traffic until he bobbled the puck. “Fix my mess now”.

Sure Larsson got confused, but they all would have been better off if Smith just stayed in his net.

Had a powerplay in the 1st period tonight.

Think the NHL suspends play, temporarily, tomorrow.

NBA has told teams that they are allowed to hold practices.

Something will come out tomorrow. NHL public relations and the PA have released statements about further consultation tomorrow.

NHLPA Statement: “We are in continuous contact with the NHL regarding the coronavirus and the recent announcement by the NBA. These discussions will continue tomorrow morning, and we will consult with players before commenting further.”

NHLPR Statement: “ The NHL is continuing to consult with medical experts and is evaluating the options. We expect to have a further update tomorrow.”

I think it does- the NHL aren't the NBA, especially as they need gate receipts far more than the latter league does.

I find it very ironic that while the Oilers flouder and flubber around their former coach in LA has a seven game winning streak going. Who'd have thought that could happen the way things were going especially for the Kings earlier in the season. You don't hear good team very much lately when it comes to the Oilers, although a couple of mind cramp mistakes cost them this game.

The Oilers got what they have been doing to other teams last night. They badly outshot their opponent. The Jets had 25 shots and over half came in the first period. Other than the first 10 mins of the first, they outplayed the Jets, yet they lost. They lost because Smith was grossly outplayed by Hellebuyck.

Unlucky goal on the first. Neal does everything right, back checks, cuts off the pass, deflects the pass. Bad part, unlucky bounce. Do that 10 times, I bet it only goes in once or twice. Second goal was flat out all on Smith. I wish he would just LEAVE most of the pucks he plays alone, just don't do it. He got lucky in the first where he tried to play it, something happened and his guys bailed him out from an easy goal. Learn his lesson for that game? Oh hell no. Goes out to play another puck, sort of plays it where he stopped it but then just leaves it there. If you are going to play the puck, play the damn puck. Shoot it!! Don't do 1/3 of it. If he doesn't touch the puck, the puck harmlessly goes behind the net and there is an Oiler waiting for it. OR he's in position to make a save.

The good part of that game is the Oilers looked like they were out of their funk and were by far the superior team. The bad part was Smith. IF games happen, I hope they play the good goalie but looks like they may not get a game for at least a while.

The Oilers get good and this happens.
