Can’t let the foot off the gas from the weekend b2b. Need to put some more separation between us and the rest.
Huge 2 points. Must acquire them.

All the games from now on are big games but this one is really big. If they can win this, that puts them 5 pts up with 2 games in hand.

Is Kuemper back yet? He was a big part of their team's early success.
You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

OEL being out is huge. He's always been a bit of an Oilers killer. Good for a goal. Though he was brutal last game. Hopefully the Oilers come out flying and can put a few goals up early. I don't think the Yotes have the offense to play catch up.

According to Lowetide, Antti Raanta is the starting goalie for the Coyotes tonight.

Looks like no Benson again tonight. What was the point in calling him up if you're not going to play him? Khaira was alright last game but let's see what the kid can do

I get to some degree you don't want to break up a winning line up when you beat the cup champs then boot stomped the Flames the day after. But can someone tell me what P.Russell does?

And Patrick Russell in...I don't get it. 0-4-4 in 40 NHL games...those are approaching Jean-Francois Jacques numbers. He looks like he tries really hard out there, but I am generally against players who look like they try hard but don't get anything else done.
I'd like to see Benson in the lineup.

But he had 6(SIX!) shots last game...
Benson, please. Why bring him up if you’re just gonna feed him popcorn in the PB?

Russell is snake-bit fer sure.. But he's not the guy I'd take off the ice to put Benson on. Sorry, that guy has to be Jujar. Russell is a defensive forward, and a good one. His +/- is -5. With no goals and only 4 assists. Jujar is -19, w/ 8 pts.
Patrick Russell GP G A P +/- PIM TOI GF% DFF% Rel DFF% CF% Rel CF%
Edmonton Oilers 34 0 4 4 -5 10 365 38.10 51.20 1.20 45.60 -3.20 0.66
And that's about as much of a stats guy out of me that you're ever gonna see !! He passes my eye-test.
It's only a matter of time until he puts another in the net. He had one, but it was called back.
He never quits; he's a "give 'er ". Watch him closely tonight.... he's not a top 6, but he is a good defensive hockey player; and he gives our team balance in that regard.
Okay... I'm done. I'm awaiting on all the posts that will inevitably land on the back of this one.... it always seems to happen. Have at 'er .
-Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

The thing with Khaira and by no means am I a fan. He can take a seat anytime in my opinion. But with Khaira there is the potential he might score the odd goal because he has some skill. He can be physical. It can be tough. His problem is he just is very inconsistent and doesn't try hard enough. When he wants to try, he can be effective.
Russell has no issue with try. The guy works hard out there every game which I respect but the results aren't there. He's giving it everything he has and this is as good as it's going to get.

Maybe it is something to do with the last name, not much he does overly well but sure does try hard!
I dont have much to say about P. Russell. I almost never notice him. That can be a good thing, I would rather that than a forward who is often noticed for all the wrong reasons It also means he is likely replaceable.
I am sure Benson will get into some games soon and maybe like Yamo he will grab a spot and keep it. I know we are all ready for him to replace Khaira or Russell but there is often value to watching a game or two from up top before jumping into the fire.

Clearly Russell is due for a goal, so I like the idea of playing him until he gets it. You never see guys going >40 games without scoring. It just never happens.

Staple him to McDavid’s line. It’ll go in. By March at the absolute latest.

Good plan. Worked for Looch a couple years ago. 2 months on McDavid's wing was all it took.
