Heck of start. Here's hoping the keep it up and finish 2019 with a bang

The thought crossed my mind. By the time we got here we barely had time to eat before we got the kids to the pool
I guess we will have to wait for the OFRPP.

Is Brent Kissel relevant? Was he ever? Why is he always showing up?

He's a country singer of some level of success and he's from here...big Oilers fan, and he's WAAAAY better than the opera singer they usually employ. I really REALLY dislike the tremolo anthem.

Interesting stat lifted from twitter - the Oilers haven't won a New Year's Eve game since 1985. Would be nice to have that streak end.

Brett. But yeah, he’s I’d say pretty big in the country music world. He’s no Garth Brooks but he did play with Garth in Regina this past year. Grew up in YEG, lives in Nashville now but has been an Oiler fan his whole life and wrote a song for the Oilers during the 2017 season/playoff run.

In a Country music hotbed such as Alberta and the Canadian Prairies, hes a pretty big deal.

Part of me has always thought the Oilers slow starts and entire home play is loosely because of that opera anthem.

Well my 3-2 prediction wasn't even close. It's been a while since I last watched us live, so this is refreshing considering how we've played in the subsequent period

In the category of "I'm never happy", I really don't like how the team took the foot off the pedal since the 6th goal. Only 5 shots on Lundqvist since he came in, and they've given back three to the Rangers so far.

It's the NHL. Don't quit, don't stop trying to score, don't think you can coast to the finish line. Especially when you're a team that could use the confidence of a blowout win.

Yeah, I had a feeling he was popular and local. No idea he was a Nashville talent.

Just brutal to see the team decide they had done enough, and just let the Rangers get right back up off the mat. I think we've had coaches who'd call off the dogs, but I don't think it is that tonight. The top PP still played the first 90 seconds of the last powerplay, so I think Tippett is fine with having them keep firing on all cylinders, but the team just hasn't executed the same. It's disappointing.

Heck of a performance by Panarin in the last 20 minutes though...

Geezuz Russell. Terrible icing off a won faceoff, meaning we still have the fourth line against Panarin...

Same number of goals for the Rangers as SHOTS for the Oilers since the goaltending change.

(That'll count, by the way).

The weak passive play has really ramped up this year. Maybe this team does need a coach riding their butts. Not sure what to think of this team right now. So many guys go through long runs of half arsing it. Full on panic mode comes swiftly as it always has.

Ramped up likely due to no more Milan in the locker room. Gully should bring in a Lucic cardboard cutout

Gave back 4 now.

This is ridiculous.

Hey we love our 3 on 3..

There were a few times there when 97 had the puck it seemed he just made the lax play. He wasn’t alone. But wowzer that has to show them they can’t just stop playing hockey.

Hope to god Klef is okay...

Could be. Nothing is more calming than seeing the Looch in the best shape of his life, setting an example for all that wish to achieve lifetime best body fat % year after year.
