So since last night was supposed to be the bounce-back game from the loss on Wednesday, what do we call this one?
"There's no greater springboard to development than failure." - Craig MacTavish, April 13/15.
5-14-6-1
"Sabres think the suck is their ally? They merely adopted the suck. The Oilers were born in it...molded by it."

MUST WIN!
But actually this is a pretty big game.

It truly is a big one. Two lackluster performances in a row where we (as fans of all tiers) have been reminded of efforts from years past.
Gotta stop the bleeding. No pressure boys... but this one earns MUST WIN status

Let's play Smith again today so he can keep battling through his injury from the 2nd period last night. He's a battler.

Is Edler out for Vancouver?

Spitballing here, but these are the lines I’d go woth tonight up front;
McD-Drai-Khaira
Chiasser-Gags-Neal
McD-Sheahan-Archi
Granny-Haas-Russell
Actually, wouldn’t mind seeing Archi’s wheels with McDavid.
Or. You want a fast line... Nygard-McD-Archi

Neal is -15 on the season. Has been great on the PP, but that suggests a player who's struggling at even strength. Ideally, would be great to see him and Gagner on a third and fourth line, but there's a dearth of second-line players on this team - especially with Nugent-Hopkins out.
With all the speculation out there, it is hard not to envision what a second line of Hall & Nuge could do for this team...although it is also hard to imagine the trade that results in Hall returning...

Poor Neal. He's actually a >50% COrsi player, and only -7 5v5. 54% high danger chance %. Lots of EN goals adding to that minus. PDO is 0.967 5v5 because of a 5% SH% when he's out there.
Hall-Nuge-Neal would probably be a really good line. It's that 3rd guy that keeps rotating that is the major issue with the 2nd line IMO. Need someone with some speed and playmaking ability for shooters Nuge and Neal.

I like the idea of playing McD on TWO lines.
I don't know why Tippet has stopped using McD at EVERY opportunity.
ie. Start of EVERY period.
After EVERY TV timeout.
At the end of EVERY penalty.
I thought he realized that McD is his ticket to a long coaching stop in E-Town... It certainly worked the first 15 or so games. Hopefully he doesn't think he can "coach" MORE out of the rest of the team at the expense of using the most potent weapon in hockey.
...this time, it's for real (isn't it?).
