Of course, Sportsnet only had the budget for the broadcasters to use tin cans to announce.

There are consequences when you overpay and can’t balance a budget.

Ugh, bad pass by Kass to Nurse leading directly to the Wild going back up the ice and scoring because Darnell was way out of position. Hopefully, they stop doing that....

Another breakdown courtesy of Riley Sheahan, another Staal goal to make it 2-0 Wild. I hope these guys wake up soon....

Bill Guerin- if there is any ex-Oiler that should have been brought back to the team in a management role, it is him.

Seriously, Sheahan is playing like hot garbage right now, and there is another Wild goal to make it 3-0. This is more like the Oilers that we've grown accustomed to over the past 13 years...

This is the part that is pissing me off hard right now. I had my fill of this sad-sack nonsense from the team over the past 13 years, don't need to see more of it this year, hot start or no hot start. Tippett clearly has a very big talk to give to the team this intermission, hopefully in the form of a screaming tirade that traumatizes them into playing harder for the rest of the game.... angryfire

I mean, it's the 10th game before they had a dud. That's impressive. It's almost like y'all were waiting for the first sign of adversity to go full Chicken Little. It's going to happen every once in a while. Just chill out and come back in 5 games if nothing has changed.

Maybe, but 12 out of their past 13 seasons have done nothing to inspire confidence, so I hope you'll understand my feelings on how they are playing so far. I'm not giving up yet on this game, but they need to play much better than they have been....

Not to mention I thought last game (Jets) they played awful as well. There were also a few games during the opening run that the Oilers were lucky to win.
I dont think we can be blamed for worrying that the first 8 games were smoke and mirrors.

For me tonight, it's less about the score and more about the effort the team put out in that first period. It's one thing if they were being outskilled, but to be outworked is inexcusable.

Seriously, that entire 4th line should be benched for the rest of the game, as they are just being liabilities. Much as I hate to see it happen, this is a game where team will have to shorten the bench if they're going to pull out a point.

100%. A cold goalie comes in they should have been peppering shots from every angle and crashing the net for rebounds.

That was ugly. This game is over. They are so bad tonight it isnt even fun to watch
I am going to keep in on the background but will spend the next period and a half getting caught up on some work.

If Tippett is going to keep playing that 4th line, we all might as well turn the TV off. They are worse than useless tonight.

Way to shoot it right into the goalie, Granlund. Good shot by Bear producing a juicy rebound, and that's the best you could do, huh? Looks like Drai is being double-shifted, good, as the Oil need some competent offensive players out there...

On the topic of trends: this is the 2nd straight Central team that were slumping to start the season before they got to play the Oilers. The Wild playing like garbage to start the year? Just order up a hot dose of Oil to get their season back on track!

He can't be expected to shoulder the load every night. Seriously, the Oil should look at bringing Hall back, because they need more scoring ability from their wings.

Ugh, that 4th line AGAIN, it's freaking painful.

McDavid at risk for going 3 games without a point.

Cant say it very often but he has been bad tonight as well.

He can't be expected to shoulder the load every night. Seriously, the Oil should look at bringing Hall back, because they need more scoring ability from their wings.

Ugh, that 4th line AGAIN, it's freaking painful.

Ya, definitely not pushing blame his way.
More of "this game is so terrible even McDavid looks bad"

The realists will once be called negative and such but this last two games are exactly what I was afraid of. If McDavid and Drai arent 10/10 they team needs heroic goal tending or massive luck to win.

House of cards this team.

This was a slightly better period from the team, but after that first they had nowhere else to go but up. In the 3rd, they have to just start running 3 lines.

P. russell on McDavid’s wing? We are officially fishing for gold in the toilet.

Yamamoto or Lavoie might do better in our bottom six. 1 goal is not acceptable.

TO make you all feel better. Talbot let in the first shot of the 2nd period.

P and K Russell out with McDavid is criminal. K. Russell holding pucks for eternity, ringing it around the boards. P. Russell lobbing trash to center and making nothing plays.

That Tippett keeps playing Khaira and Sheahan tonight pretty much signifies that tonight is a write-off.
