As with many of the last dozen seasons we will be seeing a lot of backups play the Oilers from now on.
There is really no reason to play your starter in this game when the game right before and/or after are likely against better teams.

Hey Sportsnet, If you're going to show a replay and ask us to see how close that was to going in, how 'bout you actually give us a replay showing how close that was to going in.

Not sure why they are challenging this one. He clearly whacked the goalie.
***Edit - Clearly they saw something different

Rangers commentators figure it was the Rangers player's stick that made primary contact with the goalie. Said Kass hit him after though.

I honestly dont even question anymore as I always seem to get it wrong.
watching the NYR broadcast and they seem baffled that it was a goal.
It is almost like every single outward explanation of the rule is different than what the refs use to decide.
At this point I would almost challenge every time as you never know. Nothing to lose but a time out that is often of low value.

I thought you get a penalty for a failed challenge? Or am I drunk already?

Oh wow, new angle slow-mo replay just clearly showed it was a Rangers stick that hit the goalie. Kass didn't touch him. Bravo Oilers coaching staff to make that challenge!

I think Klef just got nutted. At least its not a finger or an ankle or some dumb thing that'll keep him out.

Half the #69 is complete! But will the Oilers do their part? Or will they just be satisfied with what the other half did and go to sleep?

Does lucic actually have an injury or is it an “injury”?

It would have been a headshot if Zuccarello delivered it, but not some no-name third liner. Those are the guys that Parros feels really need protection.

Nurse casually gliding to the end boards while Namestinkoff comes flying in. You've got to play like you want to win and show some energy.
