The Oilers have done a really good job of climbing into sixth in the wild card race. A win tonight (with a little help) could see them rocket up to 5th.

Wha, wha, wha, wha, whatcha say?!!? Jaaaaason Deruuulo.

Absolutely a game they should win... so they’ll likely have a poor performance till the final 5.

That may be so, but is it really fair of you to compare where the Oilers are with where a team, like, say, Arizona is? Look at all the advantages the Coyotes have!

- The league LOOOOOOVES the Coyotes and is always trying to do nice things for them.
- They have an all-star like Marian Hossa on their team, and they've had some pretty amazing alumni through their in recent years like Pronger and Datsyuk. Yeah, they were at the tail-end of their careers, but still - they brought so many intangibles to that team. It would have been hard for their young players not to glean something having them on the roster.
- The history of that franchise is storied. Who can look up at the banners waving from the ceiling of Gila River Arena and see #19 waiving there and not feel inspired?
- The team isn't constrained at all by the salary cap. They're $7MM under the cap even after factoring Marian Hossa in. If the Oilers had that kind of cap space, just imagine what we could do with it?! We could add another Lucic!!!
- They aren't burdened with the expectations that come with A) getting four of 6 first overall picks and B) making the playoffs and winning a single round two years ago. Their players can just play the game without living with those ghosts.

Really, all things considered, it's amazing we're even within 10 points of Arizona.

Also, they've gained so much room of cap space because of all the injuries they had this year! They were an ambulance unit, where I the Oilers were having to trade for Brendan Manning and then were forced to send him to the AHL to create some space again.

I like option 7, but the goal gets credited to Lucic's backside 2 hours after the game.

...$18 bucks to watch New Jersey and $45 for parking? Guess having your SUV stare at the bumper of a Toyota for 4 hours has got to be worth something .

Park in the City Centre lot with the double Pedway to the mall. Only $7 event parking. And you’re within easy walking distance. Really close if you go outside.

Stubhub is BS because its $US and large fees will be added.

Getting 9 games over .500 the rest of the way looks to be the minimum to make it. Unfortunately, can't be done without atleast 9 wins.

So even at 11-3, the Oilers aren't even 50% to make it. Those odds are...not good.

No no. Most teams in the league want and try to win. It's only the Oilers who are focused on market manipulation and real estate empires.

6 Cups

We could get an epic league wide tank?

The biggest problem with that is that there's so much overlap this time of year in schedules. Take the Coyotes for example:

They play the Ducks, the Blackhawks, the Wild, the Avalanche, the Blues, and the Oilers down the stretch. Ignoring the Oilers games, that's a lot of opportunities for 3-point games, and at least one of their rivals has to get a point in each of those nights.

There's virtually no chance if the Oilers win less than 10 games, and even at 10 wins they're more likely out than they are in.

At this point, it's best not even to hope for the playoffs. Save yourself the disappointment. #cynicism

Koskinen back in for tonight's battle with the Rangers, Lucic skated on his own but will not dress tonight (Hitch says he's possibly back for Wednesday).

2 Cups

Need to win the next 3 against complete jobbers, split the 2 road games in St Louis/Vegas, win the rest of the games after that this month, and hope SJ/Calgary are too busy preparing for the playoffs to care about the final 2 games.

So... you’re telling me there’s a chance!

Is the ORPP dream still alive? Gotta think we need a real heater here to have a chance... hmm.
