Leon with the only shot through 6 minutes... it resulted in a goal so there’s that. Leon continues his tear, McDavid and Nurse with the apples.

A 4.5MM dollar trophy the OBC can hold up as an example of why they, and they alone, should have complete control over the team.

I prefer to think of it as a $13.5 million dollar trophy. Total contract value is way more impressive. It’s like calling Kevin a Stanley Cup champ versus a SIX time Stanley Cup champ.
You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

Look on the bright side, maybe Stolarz will get his 30+ minutes again tonight?
For what it's worth, this weekend Oilers media was talking about how Koskinen's numbers are so much better in the tiny sample size since Talbot left town...

McDavid is... just... thank you hockey gods. It’s a shame we need more from you than what you’ve already given us, oh hockey gods.

Oh nice, now the refs are randomly whistling the play down with the Oilers on a 2-1.

Oh look, play not randomly whistled down when an Oiler is on his ass at centre ice, then the refs gift the Sabres a penalty for the last 45 seconds.

Oh man... Connor McPost. Could have easily been called interference on whoever that was that Connor beat on that race there. But nope, Draisaitl gets called going back the other way.

Hockey gods were on our side after all. Do we ever do things the easy way or win a face off in our own zone late in the game when they have their goalie pulled ? Game saver by Russel and missed open net by McDavid. Right to the end! Really bad call on that late penalty on the Oilers considering McDavid was interfered with at the blue line just before the open net miss which would have put him in for an easy goal.

You dared to doubt Koskinen the great! :) Ended up with a 0.921 sav %. Partially thanks to this beauty
hehe, I certainly wouldn't have blamed him for that goal though if it did go in. Where's the D!!!

Yeah, he made me look pretty bad, didn’t he? He ran a tight ship after I opened my big mouth.
Like mentioned earlier (Adam?), media, callers etc are so focused on this sample size since Talbot left.
Is he better without someone competing with him? Is it because Sekera is such a calming influence on the D corps? Is he better because without Talbot, he gets better practice time and focus from the goalie coach? Is he better because he knows he’s THE guy?
I realize it’s boring, but how about coincidence? But no. It just HAS to be because of Talbot leaving. And no. I’m not sold yet. He’s quite a swimmer for a big guy.

I think Koskinen is better than Talbot... now he's finally getting the full lineup (Sekera and Klefbom back - his down period almost exactly coincided with Klefbom's injury (less with Russel's) and now that all are back he's getting the defense Talbot had in 16/17 and and it shows). for me, Koskinen at his best is better than Talbot's best and his worst isn't as bad as Talbot's worst. I can't complain about 20 iffy games with half a defense as much as I wanted to complain about almost 2 full seasons of inconsistency (mostly bad) of Talbot and his 1st shot is free policy. The only thing we don't know about Koskinen is his durability.

Seems like a streaky goalie, which is not an uncommon thing, most are. Might be a low end starter in the end, which I guess we can live with, but we really need to improve this team overall so he doesn't fall into the pit of despair like so many Oilers goalies before him. I appreciate how he battles, but there is no amount of battle that can't be beat out of a guy with a crap team playing crap hockey in front of him.
