Lucic with the turnover and a questionable goaltending make it 1-0 bad guys.

Was that his guy?

I would have to see the replay again but I saw the Oilers give it up in the neutral zone, the puck go through Benning stick and his man (Petterson) skate past him.
Nurse came over to cut off Peterson, leaving Boeser open who was Nurse's man before him having to cover.
Seemed Rieder was backchecking to help out and didnt quite get there in time

It's hard to tell 100%. Sportsnet has a bad habit of not showing the overhead view on replay so you get a tight shot on just a few guys.

Agreed. Either of us could be right and it is impossible to tell with the replays they show. Regardless of who made the worst error it was not good hockey from the red line in.

Jesse should have had a helmet cam on because he did absolutely nothing but watch it all unfold. It was very feeb D by Jesse.

Geez, I saw a handful of guys in the replay and didnt even notice JP, 2 things;
- another knock on the replay that I didnt see him mess up
- how far out was he if he didnt even make it in the frame?

So what’s the path of least resistance?

A. Fire Chia. Start the rebuild all over again around McDavid.

B. Trade McDavid to Seattle and we embrace the new team with a clean slate and no alumni and fan boy owner to ruin things.

There was the Gagner rebuild under Tambellini. Then the Hall rebuild again under Tambellini. Then the McDavid rebuild under Chia.

My word, I completely forgot Steve Tambellini was a GM, let alone ours for five years.

Still looks like Rieder not picking up his guy, but Jesse definitely not looking to help.

I noticed Sportsnet's fetish with iso shot replays a few weeks ago in the Colorado game. Nurse clearly scored a goal that the Colorado goalie wasn't happy about and, instead of filling us in with what was going on, they showed literally 10 different replays of Nurse shooting from 3 different angles, but not the front of the net.

I guess even a better replay can give two wildly different opinions. In order of blame from worst to least I see it as ;
- Benning, didnt take the man or the puck, allowed the dangerous part of the play to develop
- RNH, give away/confusion in the neutral zone
- JP confusion in the neutral zone/lazy back check
- Nurse, missed the play while covering for Benning
- Rieder, he is the off wing player and in that case the least defensively responsible. In alsmot every system his guy would be a high third player or a d man coming in on the rush. If he is able to come in and stop Boeser that is hell of a play, not a defensive lapse for not being able to cover for the other 4.

Back to preseason form. Had to look when it was 2 goals on two shots to confirm it wasn’t talbot but hey hitch says goaltending is our strength. Ugh...

Back to preseason form. Had to look when it was 2 goals on two shots to confirm it wasn’t talbot but hey hitch says goaltending is our strength. Ugh...

Hitch is realizing how badly Chia screwed him with this line-up.

Nope, PC has done just fine. It's injuries ya know! No team could keep up the mediocre level they were playing at with all these elite players out.

4 goals, 6 shots.
What an amazing team that this clownshow org has delivered.

In fairness to Hall, I've wanted to throw a waterbottle at Eakins all season.

I really hope Larsson is playing hurt or something as there has to be an excuse for his terrible foot speed the last few weeks.

I'm betting on a chronic back problem, his back was fubar last year, those things don't fix themselves.. I'm sure it's still a problem...

I think Koskinen had too much turkey this holiday season.

Well, at least Talbot hasn't been sitting for a month. At least have a tiny chance tonight still and beyond. Koskinen falling back to earth a bit, not that the players in front of him have helped at all. Not many shots tonight for the Cnaucks, but they haven't needed many, being wide open right around the net.

Canucks play McDavid cheaper than any team it looks like. Just hanging off him all night like 5 Kesler's. I dislike the NHL so much sometimes.

I wish they would have some sustained effort. Perhaps it is the lack of depth but it seems there is one or two good shifts followed by two or three bad ones.

Overall though, MUCH better period.

Sure hope Chaisson isn’t out too long.

This team needs its PTO surprise right now.

Wow, it’s not just the holding and interference on McDavid. It’s basically anybody.
