Will a loss tonight signal the end of TMac in Edmonton? Doubt it

Will the team play lights out to win against his former club? Maybe

Will a win buy TMac more time? Probably

Would a win tonight be a turning point in the season? I doubt it.

What would you like to see happen tonight, I know I would like to see Option 1, maybe not only TMac but it is a start.

...been a big change since the previous posts in this thread...suspect the assistants will be behind the bench using pretty much the same lineup we saw Sunday night against Vegas...should be interesting to read the body language of the players....

It will be interesting to see what the lines will be tonight. I was never a fan of McDavid with Leon. While they are awesome together, unless they are scoring 3 or 4 goals a night, they just can't score enough to justify having them together. I just have never thought Nuge brings enough scoring so if it was me, I would have the following:

Spooner - McDavid - Chiasson
Nuge - Leon - Caggulia/Rattie
Lucic - Khaira - Caggulia/Rattie
Russell - Brodziak- Kassian

Another thing I would hope that happens is they let Vivieros handle the PP. He's supposed to be a PP wizard, why the hell not use him.

I think Lucic should be no higher than the 4th line, and perhaps even in PB for a game. If there was ever an opportunity to send a big message to a veteran, this would be the time. New coach, who doesn't need to worry about making friends or getting fired since he's most likely done after this year anyway. Shake things up, and get the players attention!

I am not advocating for Lucic because he's sucked but I don't think Hitchcock is going to come in and bench Lucic the first game. He's going to want to at least see the guys play in person with him behind the bench before he starts sitting vets.

I'd like to think that most fans are smart enough not to expect the team to suddenly change in less than a day after their HC gets replaced.

Fully expect them to come out flying tonight. Thing is... can they keep the tempo for 60 minutes.

Fully expected, if TMac were fired, that Gully would be the interim guy. Excited and interested to see how the Hitchcock experiment is for the Oilers.

There was once a time I was so happy Ottawa was the laughing stock of the league - that lasted a whole month. For the first time in my life I am ready to throw in the towel unless I see Katz wake up and do a clean sweep.

To me it is like after years of trying to remodel a home and you just say blank I am getting no where with this - it would easier to tear down all the walls and gut the place completely out.

Lowe, MacT, the whole shebang should not be anywhere near decisions with this team. Scouting department - gone. Put some serious cash into specaility coaches, trainers, dietiicians, development coaches so on and so forth.

...don't think they should turf the ENTIRE scouting staff...Bakersfield has some young guys the scouts found and drafted with potential, and several players drafted that are still in the CHL, USHL, and U.S. college are coming along fine...pretty weak when it comes to bringing over Europeans, but I see it more as an issue of development, not just procurement....and some of the scouts have done a good job of seeking out and finding undrafted picks that may pan out; Hebig, for example....
