Nashville’s first lead of the season. Way to go Oilers
Nurse just owned for a loose puck leading to the goal.

Bouchard is a #1 offensive Dman, and a #12 defensive Dman.
Gets walked easy by Skjei.

ideally he'd be dominant all year around..but the good news is that when the games really matter those plays don't happen.

Granted, this is the first game I've watched, but other than the Calgary game it sounds like that's pretty much been the theme of the season thus far. Outplay opponents, but opponents cash in on their two or three opportunities, yet we only cash in on one in every ten or so. Very similar to the start of last season.
I'd be more concerned if we weren't even creating those opportunities, but we are, and the goals will come. Just gotta be patient I guess (annoying as that is)
B2B calls in our favour? What kind of witchcraft is that? Make em pay!

The PP is almost a liability at this point.
They need to put the second unit out to start the next PP... maybe that'll light a fire under the PP1 collective rear end. Right now that first unit is almost hopeless at generating anything.

kind of had enough of 93 on the pp. 18 shouldn't be gifted time either. Mix in Skinner and/or Perry with the big 3

Agree. Nuge is a non-factor and Skinner at the very least has a bullet of a wrister. I would try Arvidsson as well, to see which player fits better. VA is like a Nik Ehlers type and would probably be a really nice option.
Hyman can't get the opportunities that he was getting last year because teams aren't respecting McDrai's shooting. Leon and Connor need to bear down on their own chances and that will open up opportunities for Hyman, who should be a #3 or #4 option on the PP to begin with.

Connor's jacked about his first of the year, and Panarin's having a laugh. That dude is the best value contract in the NHL and it's not even close.

On a positive note, it seems like the team speed is back to where it needs to be. More urgency with the puck, just not on the PP at all.
Really nice positional play by most of the team, limiting Nashville to perimeter shots for the most part.
Our bottom six is great. No change necessary there... but the top six is definitely a WIP.

Nuge and Drai are painfully slow a decision making on the PP so far. Always holding pucks until they have no options left except passing back to Bouch.
Gotta get the quick playmaking going again down low on the PP. if we have to switch something up, wouldn’t mind trying Skinner on the left side instead of Nuge. Nuge fighting everything this season.

Kulak scoring machine.
Nice to get wins while our top guys are still getting out of summer mode. Depth carrying the group a lot.
