Thank you, ChiaPet- you really @!$#ed the Oil with his contract, you POS.

That man is a hero. If not for his quick thinking getting Chia to extend Kostko before Chia was fired, we would have actually had to put effort into finding a goalie in the summer.

You think we could have found 2 Mike Smiths? Not likely. There is literally only 1 Mike Smith. That plays goaltending in the NHL I mean. Of course there are many other Mike Smith's on Earth.

I like how he announced to the media that he was busy asking GM’s at the annual conference in Florida what would be a good fit for a GM on the Oilers. You know......because every GM wants to help the Oilers get better, right?

If I was a GM there, I would have told him Chiarelli is looking...

Bob is #2 in the firm among people I'd like to see dismissed, after Kevin Lowe.

So many embarrassing moments in his tenure here. Remember his "forensic audit"? Or when he promised to do an audit again a couple years later, with no evidence that he actually ever delivered the first one?

Who can forget his comment about Tobias Rieder, saying that if he'd scored 12 instead of zero, we're in the playoffs (the team was -42 on that season).

I think he hired his wife to do some work for the company as well.

Everything about the GM search was a tire fire. Saying that he needed to do his homework, telling the world that the Oilers had only done one job interview on their previous three GM hires. Constantly testing the waters on whether Keith Gretzky could just be the GM - including bragging that he'd asked other GMs how Keith was doing and was told that they think he's doing a bang-up job. Of course, asking them what he should be looking for in a GM as well...then half-way through the hunt, giving up completely on taking his time and doing his homework because Ken Holland was available, so immediately hiring a guy completely on reputation yet again.

I swear, every time I see him, I think Bob Nicholson looks wasted. Bright red nose, a little slurry.

Why Katz keeps clowns like that around, I'll never know. It's not like Nicholson's ever done anything actually hard. Virtually any poster in here could have picked Team Canada for five Olympics and win at least 60% of the time. Nicholson never really had the final say on anything anyhow. He's just an empty vessel.

Has one heck of a burger tho

They spend warmups shooting on Koskinen, it becomes second nature to score up top

Bobby is a relationships guy. Sometimes you need a guy that can befriend everyone and just take your winning hand you've laid out on a silver platter and make sure everyone is having a good time profiting from it.

Sure, he's having trouble pulling stuff off in an actual competitive atmosphere, but I bet he's still a great guy to hang out with while counting the easy money Oilers fans still keep feeding the org.

finally some NHL-like goaltending...

Better period... but hard to tell if it was because the Leafs don't care any more.

Although Lowe is a huge cancer tumour that it seems will never be cured, right now I feel Nicholson is more dangerous.

I would like to see him fired out of a cannon into the river valley.

I shudder to think where this club would be right now if Holland said “No Thanks!”

Strudwick is pretty good on the radio. Balances out Gregor's obnoxiousness. Seems like he is in the mold of a guy like Debrusk. Decent insights, aware of his audience and frames things a little positive for Oilers fans. I would definitely take him over a guy like Spector when things are back to normal.

Thinking we should get ahead of the Leafs and use our own zamboni driver. Can't let the Leafs try to cancel out history winning using ours.

Thank you, ChiaPet- you really @!$#ed the Oil with his contract, you POS.

The true enemy.

Although Lowe is a huge cancer tumour that it seems will never be cured, right now I feel Nicholson is more dangerous.

I would like to see him fired out of a cannon into the river valley.

I shudder to think where this club would be right now if Holland said “No Thanks!”

Keith probably would be the GM, and I'm not sure that the team would be much worse for it. I'm not sure that Holland has done a lot for the team to date.

I feel like Nicholson is the guy who'll promise big things, but always do the bare minimum amount of work.

I think both guys are poison for the same reason. Everyone in the organization knows they're useless, but they get big paycheques and big titles, and they're always quick to pass the buck and blame others for failure, while desperate to take credit for even a small amount of success. It is just toxic to the culture. Both of them really need to go, even if Lowe's exit is on his own terms.

I agree that in these 24 games Nurse has improved more than any other season, but the heights some of the media are starting to project are a bit ambitious in my opinion.

I honestly don’t feel his ceiling is a lot higher. He is very mobile, but has very little creativity with the puck. At times...completely clueless.

I like that he is hard nosed and extremely tough. A good fighter. But I think some of the local wags need to calm down a bit.

There’s been a few this year where if he just got it up a bit he’d have a few more goals. Kid has made strides though. Teams best winger.

Koskinen is the ultimate buzzkill for this team.

They hate playing in front of this chump.

I can’t disagree too much here. I think the fact he hasn’t done anything completely insane is just refreshing. We are so tempered for such impending doom from former GM magic. He’s made some questionable decisions, but some decent moves too. The caveman now patrolling the wing in Calgary for one.

Are they going to go 6 consecutive periods against the Leafs without a goal?

Yes. Yes I think they are...

These last two games were a beautiful kick in the junk for the Oil. Just when they think they're getting a swagger and they're hot $?@¥... they absolutely get shut down two games in a row.

He still has to play with puck mover to fill that gap in his game. Keeps him from every being a true #1. He's kind of a unique player. Gets most of his results out of pure athleticism and being able to stay involved in the play all night long in lots of minutes.

Leon making some really dumb decisions on the powerplay.

Yep, I defended him a short while back but his no look back hand passes have been give aways over and over again tonight.

I agree. After about 10 games sportnet was going on about how he has the best backhand pass in the league. I swear he was listening because he tries some crazy backhand pass every other shift that ends up turned over and the puck is in our zone.
