Looking at the standings, it looks like the top 3 Central teams are safe barring a total collapse. Almost everyone in the Pacific still has some risk, with the race now looking like this:

Pacific
VGK - 65GP 35-22-8 78 points 32 ROW L10 - 8-1-1
VAN - 63GP 34-23-6 74 points 31ROW L10 - 4-5-1
EDM - 64GP 33-23-8 74 points 31 ROW L10 - 5-3-2

Wild Card
CGY - 65 GP 33-25-7 73 points 27 ROW L10 - 6-3-1
NSH - 63GP 32-23-8 72 points 29 ROW L10 - 6-3-1
WPG - 66 GP 33-27-6 72 points 30 ROW L10 - 5-4-1
ARI - 66 GP 31-27-8 70 points 26 ROW L10 - 4-5-1
MIN - 63 GP 31-25-7 69 points 29 ROW L10 - 6-3-1

Pretty wild that with 6 weeks left to play, there's still 8 teams in the hunt for five spots (although Vegas looks in good stead to make it and it's a big uphill climb for the bottom three on the list. Chicago and the California teams are all dead in the water now.

Looking a little closer at each team's route:

Vegas Golden Knights

- Two games against top Central teams - COL, DAL
- Four games against teams well below playoff cut line - BUF< LAK, NJD, DET
