Oh god, just watched Virtanen's interview. I know he's generally dumb, but holy crap, did the guy not seek any help in how to reply to questions he knew would be coming? He can barely speak coherently about any of it, just a few cliché phrases.

Holland is entertaining, basically saying that if Virtanen isn't innocent it would mean we can no longer trust the justice system. I guess that would mean ANARCHY, or something.

Still OK with trying Virtanen, since he didn't pass my "you can't be on my team" threshold of 1st degree convicted murder. But holy crap this org and Virtanen are embarrassing themselves.

Yes. I would not accept a convicted 1st degree murderer to play for the Oilers. I would become an Avs fan. Gotta get the conviction though, and gotta be 1st degree. I'd be on the fence with 2nd. There is also a variable in my equation depending on how useful he player would be to the team. Useless player + 2nd degree, I'm out in that case too.

Wow.. Milano released from his Flambe PTO.. man he should fire his agent.. or is agent fire Milano.. depending on who stuck in their heels.. he could have actually got an NHL deal prior to training camp if he lowered his asking price when more musical chairs were available.. now he'll be digging in the bargain bins..

Something must be up with him, something personal off ice. Not sure how else a guy can just flip from being a pretty decent player to getting zero done in pre-season on a PTO.

Might just be the downside of betting on yourself.

Actually leaving your fate up to a PTO is really rolling the dice.. you're leaving a lot to chance.. what caliber of line mate do you get to work with, how many pre-season games do you get, what level of player will you face on the other teams.. you would really have to distance your self from the other players in those games to get a contract.

A guy like Janmark is an example.. if he wouldn't have signed for relatively cheap early on.. he might have had a hard time making a team on a PTO.. I'm not sure I'm signing him based on what he's shown in pre-season so far..
