Notable fact: this is the first time the Oilers opened the scoring in a game one during this run, so perhaps this may go differently...?

But then they gave up a goal 36 seconds later, so some things never change. I hate the shift after a goal, because it feels like this team gets caved in all the time immediately after.

Not liking how much time the Oil have spent hemmed up in their own end of the ice. Hopefully they can push back in the following periods.

Looks like Steelcroft will have a lot to discuss with the team in the 1st intermission. By "discuss with", I of course mean "scream his lungs out in a rage at".

Nope, it's offside, the goal is going to be called back. Good call by Steelcroft to challenge.

Exactly. So what if it was? The only way that's onside is if we carried the puck back in, which we clearly didn't.

Well, if some BS like this was going to happen, it's better that it happened earlier in the game. Hopefully the team can use this to rally itself into a harder pushback in the following periods.

Check the odds on Avs to lead after one period. That was straight-up an organized crime call. Historically bad, and probably literally based off the breaking of laws.

Doesn't matter .. puck came out.. Av was still in.. pauck put back in by an Av.. control of the puck has ZERO to do with anything.. This was a fabricated goal.
