Could tonight be the first this season where the word "consistency" becomes a part of the Oil's vocabulary by pulling off a 2nd consecutive win for the first time? I guess we'll see....

Well, for the record, winning every second game IS being consistent.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

We’ve been consistently bad for 14 years.

Hopefully Skinner is good enough to give us a chance. Looks like Ottawa likes to put pucks towards the net. Just need to keep them out.

Skinner? You mean Grosenick? Or, well, actually... do you mean Koskinen? I truly don’t think they give Koskinen the night off.

Fair point, I should have said the words “consistently GOOD”. I just watched the filthy Connor goal from last night, and my thought was, “The Oil had better put a team around this man who can get him to at least a Cup final so that his godlike talent does not end up being completely wasted!!!”

Who scores their first NHL goal tonight? Artem Zub. Remember thy name. Sounds as though Chabot will be a no go tonight as they have recalled defenceman Artem Zub from the taxi squad.

Let’s see the same intensity as last night. Please.

Or maybe not?

Reid Wilkins says Koskinen gets the start? Lol and Grosenick doing the media avail. The f is happening.

Dailey Faceoff;
I have read that Koskinen, Skinner and Grosenick are all starting for the Oilers tonight, so I have no idea what’s happening

Maybe they’ll bring Grant Fuhr outta retirement for this one.

Bear is day to day. Opportunity to see what Bouchard can do. Oilers practise this morning was optional so not able to find what combinations Tippett has planned.

Bear seemed to get hurt on a fairly innocent play. Considering his performance this season compared to last season, I wonder if he has been playing hurt.

Go, Oilers. smash smash smash

The Score had it earlier.

I don’t get it either? There have been two opportunities to give Skinner a taste of NHL duty in Koskinen blow ups, yet now it’s time when we finally get our waiver claim in town.

Against a team that the Oilers absolutely have to be better than and beat 7 times this year. You want to roll the dice? Roll 'em when you've already beaten the Jets or Leafs in game one and they have to earn the split.

Please do not feed the bears. Feeding the bears creates a dependent population unable to survive on their own. Bears.

There's no win from playing Skinner. He was getting lit up two leagues down last year. It's a massive risk to put him in unless the other goalies are completely unable to go. Grosenick has played in the NHL before and has had really good AHL numbers. I'm okay with seeing him between the pipes. Putting Skinner is is like throwing the game.

Can we really be surprised though? It’s like claiming you need consistency yet you’re changing a lineup for the sake of change after a win (again). Aside from Bear, who’s reportedly day to day, the lineup should remain the same. Though nothing has been confirmed, it sounds like both Lagesson and Russell will be drawing in with Koekkoek again the odd man out while Chiasson is presumably in for Ennis.

For the record. I do like Tippett. I just don’t get the consistent changes to the lineup.

Perhaps? Not listed on any injury report. Tippett was asked and his reply was he’s been on the ice the last few days. Arguably he’s fine. Don’t get it. Young RHD injured and you have Bouchard waiting in the wings. But it seems he won’t be drawing in. It’s odd to me.

Tempted to bet the under and go against logic. This could be a boring, low scoring game if Edmonton plays a boring trap system to protect Skinner.

My rebuttal is this...

CAN the Oilers play a boring trap system? I mean. Are they defensively capable of that?

Bet the over.

Tempted to bet the under and go against logic. This could be a boring, low scoring game if Edmonton plays a boring trap system to protect Skinner.

My rebuttal is this...

CAN the Oilers play a boring trap system? I mean. Are they defensively capable of that?

Bet the over.

They bring the first Toronto win effort to Ottawa and I think it’d be close.

Even if they play the ECHL 'tender?

The more I look this, the more I scratch my head. I mean Ottawa would be the best team for Skinner, but at worst they are a very good AHL team and Skinner is below average pro goalie.

At least he gets to one day say he had an NHL start.

Good spot to play Skinner but leave Bouchard on the Taxi Squad while the Condors are playing game 2 right now? It. Makes. No. Sense.

Per the team;

The #Oilers have recalled Stuart Skinner (G) & activated Gaetan Haaaaaaaas (F) off IR while also assigning Tyler Ennis (F) & Devin Shore (F) to the Taxi Squad. #LetsGoOilers

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaass looks to be 4C tonight while signs pointing to Skinner in goal

I think he'll add something to the forecheck, not sure why KooKoo is out, he's solid. Assume Jones & Son-of-Lars remain a pair, Nurse & ?, Benning & ? KRussell? Lagesson?

If Koski wasn't playing I can see why they want to give Lynard Skinner a go, pretty bad to be on the taxi all these months and the team passes on you for a guy that just flew (drove?) into town with similar number of NHL games... hopefully there'll be a lot more blocked shots tonight..

Excited for Haaaaaas to be in.

Not excited about the defenseman choices. Jones/Lars’ son have been better as a pair since Jones came back in but Koekkoek has been v solid. No Bear should mean Bouch, especially with Bakersfield now playing games. It’s ridiculous.
