That was definitely a game management penalty

*Edit - and the refs get what they want

Holy shirtballs. I know it has become the in thing for Oiler fans to whine about the refs but this is getting out of hand.
The Oilers have played poorly and look tired. As a result they have done a lot of hooking, holding, tripping, etc.

The refs have missed a lot this game but it has been to the Oilers benefit. If I was a Stars fan I would be livid.

Every fan base whines about refs. Listen to all these babies on TV right now :)

Ya, it just seems Oiler fans, and not just on here, but in general, have really cranked the complaining into high gear.
the difference to me is that Oiler fans seem to think there is some deep rooted conspiracy to keep the Oilers down. It's laughable and to me gets embarrassing. I was in Vancouver for a work a while back and had lunch with a couple of Canuck fans/buddies. They were quite humble about both the lack of overall Nuck success and the Oilers. They only thing they trash talked about where how the fans have turned whiny the last two years.

TL:DR
Canuck fans think we whine to much, that is not cool!

I think it’s the fact 97 gets about 60% of the the actual interference calls made on him.

It’s been a long haul. It can jade a fan base after a while.

EDIT: Canuck fans love to bash that glass. It’s so weird.

I didn't complain about the refs, I said it was a game management penalty, and it was. This has been quite a chippy game, but it happened that the only penalty in the 3rd was with 12 minutes left to help the team trailing by a goal.

It was an iffy call. The same kind of iffy call that the refs ignored 10 seconds earlier at the other end of the ice.

and Canucks fans have nothing to complain about, the 'Nucks have been leading the league in PP opportunities for the entire year.

Perhaps I misunderstand what you mean by game management? I assumed it was a complaint about the ref.

Well, I guess that's a good time for the refs to give the Oil a make-up call for the stupid Larsson penalty....

NOT agreed! on any given shift Corey Perry has gotten away with just as much as the Oilers have in the whole game.

Wonder what his secret really is. Maybe he has deadly smelly breath. Refs don't want to give any reason for him to talk to them.

eek, AA, such a lazy penalty after his brain had a 2 second delay before letting him skate to a free puck in the corner in our zone. Wake up boy, you're not last place on the red wings anymore.

What they actually called as penalties vs what they should have called are diametrically opposed.

That was a bad call.

As bad as the call on Larsson, sure.

What a save by Khudobin.

Now let’s make everyone forget it happened...

Swinging your stick out in desperation to trip a guy that would have been able to go to your net wide open. Pretty sure that would be called on us 100 times out of 100

I felt he was making a play for the puck, that went wrong. First period. Sure, put your arm up.

OT? I would not have even mentioned it if he didn’t put the arm up. Was pretty shocked when he did tbh. Just me.

Tripping swinging for the puck is a penalty now, even if you contact the puck. That was a pretty good opportunity to take away by taking Nuge down. Far better chance than when McDavid chopped at a players stick behind our net while he was already falling down and was called in OT for tripping.

I went back and looked.

That was more of a scoring chance than I recall.

It’s a penalty.

To be fair, it was far from the weakest call the refs made tonight. There's a pretty good argument that SHOULD be called. He swung his stick, missed the puck and took down the puck carrier, hampering a scoring chance.

It probably doesn't make the top ten list tonight of bad or missed calls...

Just you I think. Clearly took away a wide open scoring chance. So, good call.
