This is the part that is pissing me off hard right now. I had my fill of this sad-sack nonsense from the team over the past 13 years, don't need to see more of it this year, hot start or no hot start. Tippett clearly has a very big talk to give to the team this intermission, hopefully in the form of a screaming tirade that traumatizes them into playing harder for the rest of the game....

Maybe, but 12 out of their past 13 seasons have done nothing to inspire confidence, so I hope you'll understand my feelings on how they are playing so far. I'm not giving up yet on this game, but they need to play much better than they have been....

Not to mention I thought last game (Jets) they played awful as well. There were also a few games during the opening run that the Oilers were lucky to win.
I dont think we can be blamed for worrying that the first 8 games were smoke and mirrors.

For me tonight, it's less about the score and more about the effort the team put out in that first period. It's one thing if they were being outskilled, but to be outworked is inexcusable.

Seriously, that entire 4th line should be benched for the rest of the game, as they are just being liabilities. Much as I hate to see it happen, this is a game where team will have to shorten the bench if they're going to pull out a point.

This was a slightly better period from the team, but after that first they had nowhere else to go but up. In the 3rd, they have to just start running 3 lines.
