Read in the paper this morning that Louie de Brusk will be back doing colour with Kevin Quinn this season. Remenda bumped to doing in between period stuff, though he will still be doing the colour on HNIC nights when Louie is covering other games.

So that's one thing to look forward to this season at least.

Your voices have been heard fans.

Although, did anyone here ever complain to SN about Remenda? I actually might have once.

So Sportsnet finally figured out that when they are broadcasting an Oilers game to the Oilers market, fans usually like to hear about the actual team and not listen to a guy who clearly dislikes the Oilers rip the team apart constantly at times for no reason and constantly goes on and on about the greatness of his former team. Remenda needs to go back and work for the Sharks because clearly based on what he says, the Sharks are gods gift to hockey.

It's funny, being an Oilers fan in the Bay Area, I listened to a lot of Remenda when he was in SJ, and a common complaint my friends had was that he was too critical of the Sharks. Go figure. But maybe that's why I liked him and still don't have a problem with him. icon_neutral

Finally a one for one trade in the offseason that we win.

I have zero complaints about this. So good to have Louie back on the mic. I won’t have to mute the games anymore and the commentary might make up for lack of on ice entertainment.

I'll take his sometimes dead air over Remenda's inaudible wisperings.

I didn't mind Remenda. Not that i have any beef with Louie, or that I think he is one, but I hate homer broadcasters. The Boston guy annoys me to no end. The Colorado guy used to completely no-sell opponent goals. That's what would make me turn things off.

Agreed 100 percent. I’m in the minority and prefer Remenda over DeBrusk. The worst Oiler hockey I have ever seen was under DeBrusk and his positivity during a dark time made me so angry. Down 5-1 to the Blues and after 2 periods we hear “If there is any team that can come back it’s the Oilers with their combination of young speed and skill!” That’s when I turn off my television, the 12-32-8 Oilers are going to come back on the Blues down 4, STFU Louie.

I didn’t even notice Remenda and his comments to be honest, he didn’t really impress me or do anything to stick out which is fine by me.

Yeah I heard that homer Boston guy once .. holy crap man .. he's freaking embarrassing! Even if I was a Bruins fan I'd throw up in a bucket listening to that, he makes J. Garret sound OK.
But Remenda just didn't get it, he wouldn't call it out when the Oilers got stiffed, but he'd point it out when the opposition did. His exit is no loss to me.

I don't know about now, but Derek Sanderson used to do Boston NESN color. Guy born in ON sounded like he was a Southie home boy doing Bruins games.

When I stream games from the washington capitals home feed, I have to mute it because the cap's color guy is a horrendous homer.

Nice, now I can listen to the Oilers feed on the NHL.com Stream again.

Hate to admit, the past two years I would watch many of the opponents' feeds because I just couldn't with Drew (there are some that are worse - the TB guy for instance)
