Also signed Kevin Gravel. Never heard of him. Left hand D, because we don't have enough of those.

So speed is the buzz word for off-season acquisitions and............................................We sign an old slow guy that can win face offs. Geez that makes sense!
What’s next....I’m afraid to ask. Just thankful Chiarelli has literally no cap space to add more crap at over-valued prices this summer.

So is this Gryba 2.0? Overpay on a 2-year deal, only to buy him out after year 1... if this was a 1 year deal like the Jokinen deal was last summer, I would be luke-warm on the gamble, but at this term and price I am not a fan.

I don't mind this deal. He should be a good depth player for the team, good wheels, smart and can kill penalties. Maybe a bit slower at 34 than he use to be but still a decent skater and not bad in the face off circle.

Well, not my first choice. And 2-year is a little risky because at Brodziak's age, your game can deteriorate very quickly.
But he's actually probably the least problematic contract of anyone on that fourth line. There's outs with it, particularly burying most of it in the AHL if things go south.
Would rather have had someone like Tim Schaller, I think, but certainly better than Jason Chimera. It could have been worse. It's an okay-ish signing.

I still don't know the reason we got rid of him in the first place. Zero idea, yeah yeah to make room, but it never made sense to me.
2 years is a little long but 1.1 in year 1 and 1.2 in year 2 so it's not terrible. It's not ideal either..
I think he can still go as the 4c and help kill some penalties. They say (twitter GM's) he can still skate... so? Good?
The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.
Generally Disappointed.

I have no problem with this signing. I think the Oilers needed some more vet presence in their room as I think even though he no longer had the boots, they missed Hendricks. He should bring that. He's a right handed center, can win some draws, he will know his role. Mostly he will help their PK and he's cheap which is what you want with your 4th line center. I think it also allows Khaira to play wing, maybe even the 3rd line which I think is a good thing because I think Khaira is a better winger. Solid signing.
