With 3 McPoints in the bank early, nothing else mattered.

To me and the Oilers.

.. good result.
Pathetic effort.

McD with 3 pts > good, and they keep league placing intact.

The pretenders exposed > good

Russell -4
Sekera -3
Benning -2
Caguilla -4

Cagguila, Benning > not NHL caliber. Cagguilla can't play in his own end to save his life.
Sekera > past his best-before date, I don't expect much better next year, Oilers will, and we'll all be disappointed.

Russell > should be on the 3rd pair, playing against 4th liners.
Lucic > .... nothing.. <crickets>

Without McD this team would be the worst in the league for the next 5 years. Bad Management/Ownership to blame. This is like the guy you read about that wins the lottery.. then 5 years later you read he's homeless ...

Honestly, at this stage, about a perfect result. Bunch of McPoints (could have had a few more) and no points in the standings. Frack I hate that I'm thinking/talking draft before the playoffs even start...again. puke

lol, McDavid clearly needs to wait until the 3rd to start racking up the points. Everyone just stopped playing after our 3rd goal. Although, maybe that was ordered by our brilliant coach, start sitting on the sweet lead.

Is seven unanswered goals a record? That was a big time implosion. Pathetic effort after it looked like they had control of the game in the first. If not for McDavid interest would be at an all time low! Do you have to work at it to be that bad?

Had a good laugh during the game. It was high comedy value.

A circle jerk, is a guy that makes circular arguments and is rude but doesn’t really know it, right?

2015/2016 - This Kool-Aid tastes like McDavid flavoured Drain-O.

2016/2017 - This Kool-Aid is starting to taste like juice.

2017/2018 - I'm drinking this Kool-Aid hoping it's Drain-O.

8-0 Whalers back in the glory days is the worst I remember for consecutive goals against. Although I was at the "We want 10" Chicago game which may have been 9 in a row. Was too busy drinking and chanting to remember.

I’m pretty sure it was 11-0, but yeah...it was terrible. Team apparently went on a bender the night before and got smoked.

Of course the team that year won the Stanley Cup, so they can be forgiven a no-show in February...

In fairness, he was right... until the cyclical nature of hockey caught up with the club when the 'Boys on a Bender' ran the team bus off a cliff for 18 years (and counting).

It was one year ago today 28th) that the Oilers clinched their playoff berth.

I know there are people who think TMac is a good coach. I'm just not really sure based on what at this point. He is a horrible leader who is unmatched at giving away massive leads in games and in series. His team in San Jose pretty much always underperformed with him as HC and they were immediately better when he left.

His time in Edmonton speaks for itself. I mean I guess he did make the playoffs once which is a bit of a miracle...but the team did have like 50 first overall picks..and they ended up epically soiling themselves in the last 5 minutes of a game like has never been seen before.

Mostly I just hate the sound of his voice and the non stop excuse making and blame shifting.

The good news is that as far as actual reasons why the team/organization is awful he is probably pretty far down the list.

Anyway, I'm sure all of this is just part of the master plan to be good by the time the new new arena opens in 2050.
