So, what's Darryl doing right now?

I'm having trouble understanding why TMac would pair up the complete greenhorn with Benning of all people. Can someone help me out?

Perhaps he has next year on the brain and is wanting them to build chemistry? Perhaps he has some stat on the two of them from (limited) practice that we fans can’t begin to understand. Or. Maybe, just maybe, he has literally no excuse/reason for the decisions he makes.

However, it’s in my professional opinion that he feels that pair gives Lucic the best opportunity to get going.

Edit: appears it was just a short time. So. I guess there’s that.

Thanks Bob. So glad to hear they have a plan.

Edit: Wayne isn’t involved with the hockey. That’s Peter’s call. (Per: Bobby Nicks) also talking about how the oilers had a coaching carousel prior to his arrival (3rd year now) and he feels they’re not in a position to make a change.

lol, line of 3 right handed forwards. Top line is 3 lefties (1 completely useless one).

I guess it is hard to make your lineup when you have 2 rules:

1) Lucic+McDavid is a must
2) Pulju can never have common linemates from game to game. Preferably it's mixed up on him mid-game as well.

McDavid looks sad. That shot was probably an attempted setup for Lucic, looking for a rebound.

He knows if he doesn't get Lucic one that plug will be glued to him indefinitely.

Was at the end of a shift. But yeah, didn’t look happy at all.

I can’t wait for two things tonight;
1 - the Pepsi commercial
2 - Lucic’ inspirational speech

Hey, how about that. Talbot just matched how many points Lucic has while being glued to McDavid for the last 18 games.

Another Klef clearance attempt winds up in the back of their net. Sigh. Aside from Connor and RNH, it's hard to think of ANYONE on this team who hasn't regressed from last season.

Eberle? I kid I kid.

I’d argue that Slepyshev hasn’t regressed. 10 points (4G-6A) in 41 played last season and so far this year he’s had 10 points (5G-5A) in 34 games played.

Hard to believe this coaching staff could even consider themselves to be NHL caliber.

I hate to be negative but this team is soooo poorly coached.

Please...lose the rest of the games this year and get these " coaches" fired.

Utterly pathetic and disgusting.

How do you "assess" young players when you don't play them?

Aaaaarrrrghhh!

6v5... delayed call. We were looking for Lucic there but the Nuge line had just gone over the boards prior to the delayed call and we sent McDavid our for Talbot

Nuge and Lucic both with 1 point in the last 18 games...

It’s not over.

He may double Lucic.

If I were a betting man, I’d put money on Nuge getting another before Lucic pots one

God damn this team if they trade Nuge and start looking for a winger.

Not a doubt in my mind that Nuge would be twice the quality of LW with McDavid than Lucic is. Maybe infinity more quality based on these last 2 months.
