When is this team ever going to be sharp at the beginning of a game. They all look hung over!

Russell and Gryba on the PK together is my nightmare.

Beginning to wonder if last season didn’t actually happen. If it was an illusion or some memory implant like Total Recall or a year long group psychotic episode.

It's well know this reality has shifted timelines at least twice in the last decade. It's very possible last season wasn't real.

Dressing Gryba when you didn't have to = icon_dead icon_dead icon_dead icon_dead

Love McLellan talking about how Davidson doesn't need any ice time to get comfortable, yet that has constantly been his reason to inject Gryba into the lineup for no apparent reason.

When the D in front of him make plays like the one Russell did on the 3-1 goal, can you blame him? The team should be playing harder when they're in front of a rookie who is still trying to find his legs.

Posted that before the breakaway goal. That was all Russell and Maroon.

But before that, LB was looking super tentative. Almost let one in earlier when it seemed to take him 2 seconds to move his body after giving a juicy rebound.

Of course, we all know that LB isn't Cambot in net and will likely never be. The problem is that the coaching staff don't seem to know this too based on the effort the team has put out in front of him tonight.

Not sure how many times you can trot out a below <0.900 sav% goalie behind a team and expect the guys to play like they need to play for him. At some point it turns into a drain on your group.

Not to excuse their effort, this was another terrible effort out of the gate. Think there was a remote possibility they would have give that supportive effort for Ellis though.

Is the team bad because the save percentage is bad or is the save percentage is bad because the team is bad?

Combo of everything. We intentionally play a guy like Gryba and it burned us. LB is not good. Talbot has been bad. Everything to do with this team that coaches have a heavy hand in (special teams, preparation, strategy) has been awful.

LB seems to have regressed, I never remember him being that static in net when he was with the Oil Kings, he doesn't even react, its like he thinks he fills the whole net.. Oh well, another game off the schedule.

Shot totals so far:

Flyers: 31
Oil: 17

This is unacceptable against a team that only snapped its losing streak against the Cowtowners 2 nights ago. Seriously, a coaching change may be the best solution over a panic trade. Call the Sutters, Chia.

So, looks like this team still can't prepare themselves for an NHL game. Season looking pretty done at this point. Unless there is some kind of miracle comeback.

Team seems to not care one bit about taking advantage of any opportunity to get back in the race. Every win is a free pass to play terrible for the next game, and maybe longer. That game against Buffalo made this super clear.
