Bloody firing squad for Talbot so far.

Why is this team rarely ready to come out of the gates with some fire? New Jersey is all over us.

It’s not just this Oilers team. It seems like every Oiler team going back to the Doug Weight era.

Chasing the game. Some of the best Oiler hockey occurs when they are chasing the game. If this team was to blow a teams doors off in the first period a couple times in one week, this city would go nuts. There would be Oiler flags everywhere and motorists would be letting other motorists into traffic.

I see it's going to be one of -those- Oilers games.

Just broke the half way point of the first with zero shots on goal.

That's 2 shots on net in the last 30 minutes of regulation play.

This team is amazingly bad. They were lucky to get passed the Islanders, and they aren't looking good so far tonight.

Edmonton has 6 power play goals so far this season.

New Jersey has 4 short handed goals.

That's disgusting.

TMac has clearly indicated to management that he and his assistants are a package deal. If they go, he goes.

It's the only way to explain how being terrible on both the PP and PK is allowed to continue.

I as well am surprised the coach didn’t challenge that.

The coach who has already viewed the video 2x before the red light has even shut off. Not sure why that annoys me so much, but it seems to. When the camera pans most coaches after a goal they are either talking or writing something down. This coach is all, “say it isn’t so” after EVERY goal.

There are plenty people I’m sure that are ready to notify the bench if something is “unfair.”

Gene scored huge points with me on that pickle juice bit.

That was awesome!

Ugh, such brutal D on that 2nd NJ goal. Brains just all turned off. Talbot barely even moves too. It's like Stafford was in another dimension only we could see.

Edmonton had some great shifts immediately prior to that point, they were taking over the game the way it looked. We're clearly back to the same sh--ty mistakes that kill the team this year, as we saw for 10 damned years. Gave up that one and played the rest of the period pretty much in their own end.

Yay for another feel good story at our expense. Good for Boyle.

I feel like the Safeway Score and Win commercials are just taunting at this point.

Hey you can still win some kitchen accessories!

Has anyone scored 4 since Selivanov?

I would say Lucic and his goal earns him a twirl in OT.

Who is with me?

Nope, thankfully someone stopped the coach from rewarding him OT minutes. Paddy was out there though, which isn't terrible, but still not a wheel. A ton of chances there. If Nuge had scored after those 4 moves or whatever, that's play of the week. McDavid to Drai like that? We're going to see that probably 4-5 times every year in OT. Outstanding.
