Sounds like Slepy draws in tonight, likely with Lucic/Nuge line.
Yamamoto / Pakarinen 4RW. Send the kid down already if he's only going to get spot duty on the 4th line.

As long as the plan is to keep him at 9 or less games, I don't mind Yamamoto sticking around a little longer due to some press box time. He is a guy that actually will benefit from participating in practice against/with guys like McDavid, Drai, Klef, Larsson, Russell, Talbot and others and learning as much as he can about what being an NHLer is all about and what it's like to battle against real NHL Dmen as a little guy. He was already the best offensive producer in his draft class. The WHL is going to be way too easy for him. It'll be up to him to try to work on things that will help him at the NHL level eventually, and he can learn what to work on by being with the Oilers for a decent amount of time. Without us burning an ELC or RFA year of course.

Just wait for the three-game scoring streak in games 7-9 and the Oilers teeth gnashing about the decision that will immediately follow...

I hope there is no game 7-9 honestly. He is making NHL salary on the roster when he's in he press box so he getting his reward for the good camp/pre-season even without playing. McLellan clearly does not trust him out there. Looks like a 4th line assignment again tonight, if anything at all. Work with the kid for a few weeks, give him 5-6 games, and send him off.

Yamamoto is a kid that stands as tall as I did when I was 11 and weighs 158 lbs soaking wet.

Regular season is a man's game, and he was getting pushed around pretty good in the game against the Flames. He's not ready for big minutes, so giving him some spot duty and situational assignments while training with the big club is a good fit for now.

9 games is good for a taste; he'll be sent down soon enough.

Oilers need a vastly better effort tonight. Jets are going to be fighting hard to get back on the right foot.

I'd expect the Jets to come hard tonight. Either they play desperate and take a lot of penalties (which is their penchant) or they decide to finally follow the rules. If they play smart, this is going to be a very tough game.

No small games.

Friendly reminder: McDavid will be taking 8.725 million more in cap space next season. The time to win is now.

No Buf tonight.

Just means the Oil will have even fewer excuses if they play like they did on Saturday. Hopefully, they realize now that they actually have to PLAY the damn games before they can claim to be winners.
