He was pivotal on that great chance for Eberle.
Kassian with a punishing hit.

Looks like the refs decided to punish him for it now in a move of pure BS.

That was not a good penalty by Patty. That's not smart hockey, man.

2nd BS ref call was on Kassian for the face wash, 2 minutes in the NHL playoffs for that?
Then the 3rd, Desharnais gets tackled from behind, no call.

Why are we still taking stupid penalties?
That's a legit roughing call against Maroon. Need to be smarter than this to win.
If the play smart, they are in this game and this is a long series. If they keep taking penalties like this, San Jose makes short work of the Oil.

Vlasic uses the push from behind as an excuse to reach out and punch Talbot in the back of the head.
Thanks refs for protecting our goalie.

We must be the only 2 homers here I guess. I thought those 2 calls were absolutely ridiculous. Especially given what they let go against us. To just send off just the one Oiler twice in a row from scrums is making it a little too obvious.

Ignore all the infractions that are preventing scoring chances, but call all the little piddly physical stuff while 2 teams are trying to get into a series.
Exactly what all the hockey fans pay to see the refs do.
Of course, if it was the Oilers making all the hooks and holds, and SJ was being the more physical team after whistles, I'm sure the ref philosophy would do a 180.
Of course when Campbell's son has a chance at a cup, this is OK:

Sometimes you just gotta realise it's already decided stuff isn't gonna go your way. Our guys have to stop the extra stuff.

Kassian having a whale of a game.
And it's too bad we can't swear here, because I really can't convey how much I hate that stupid blind ring around the board exit, especially when there is 0 pressure.

The reffing has been garbage. The calls aren't necessarily bad ones, but they're incredibly one-sided and inconsistent.
We need to understand that the reffing isn't going to change and not give them any excuses.
Absolutely blatant slashing call just missed, where they hacked Sekera's stick in two.
Trash reffing.

I agree you could see in the replay he'd grabbed Nurses leg, took nurse down on top of him. Bad call when you consider the non-call on Desharnais previously in the game, The refs have "drawn the line" but there's a different line for both teams.
Here is a guarantee, if the game is within 1 goal near the end of the game, there will be a marginal call against the Oilers.
Saw it from another angle, after the intermission, that was probably a penalty, but same infraction as the Deharnais non-call.

We may be a bit more physical, and stilll getting the penalties but we are playing a better game than we did on Wednesday. We burned ourselves out in that first period with the emotions from the fans. This a more sensible game.
