So we get to see if Ference's talk and the extra layoff time has done anything to help get this team going in the right direction. However, with Perron not likely to be in the line-up along the possibility that J Schultz isn't in, I can't think positive thoughts about what's going to happen tonight.

Not having Schultz in doesn't worry me. He has been a disaster this year. I'm sure Larsen can do a better job.

I say this is close to this last minute where one of our guys coughs it up to Datz, and he makes our goalie look dumb. As he normally does.

Ference is on After Hours tonight, which should be good.

Will be cooking and drinking during the Leafs game, so should be drunk and crying for the Oilers game.

Then I'll just regress, because I feel I've made myself perfectly redundant.

Oilers Lines at Morning Skate:

Jones-RNH-Eberle
Yakupov-Gagner-Hemsky
Lander/Hamilton-Gordon-Arcobello
Gazdic-Acton-Eager

Smid-Petry
Ference-NSchultz
Belov-Larsen

Perron, Hall, Smyth, Joensuu and MacIntyre all participated on-ice as well.

That's not a lineup that looks ready to take on Detroit. Yikes.

Also, I still don't understand why they don't flip Gagner and Arcobello. Looking forward to seeing Larsen play tonight, and hoping that Ryan Hamilton draws in as well.

I usually do about 30 of those pre-game just so I don't pull anything when it actually happens during the game.....

We're playing Detroit, eh? Well, just look at the anniversary date up there, will ya?

To Detroit: Jimmy Carson, Kevin McClelland
To Edmonton: Adam Graves, Petr Klima and Joe Murphy.

Edmonton 3
Detroit 2

You have a team on the ropes that just came off a horrible month in Edmonton. Everytime the Oilers play Detroit they have an offensive display that goes back and forth, with the Toronto game and its disastrous results still fresh in our minds this one will be another turd laid by Edmonton. Getting this team fired up for anything is near impossible, I'm betting Bertuzzi has a huge night and the Oilers lay another muffin in the oven. 6-3 Detroit.

After 8 years of ineptitude you begin to wonder whose the real schmuck? Them for sucking or me for cheering....... *cracks open bottle of whiskey*.

With this ugly of a lineup, it'll be a sad thing to watch, even if Detroit has a rookie netminder in tonight. PVR application.

Gotta good feeling on this one.

Of course this is the same feeling that's kept me an Oiler fan through 7 dark years. So...

Though I'm down on the team, and definitely down on management big time.....I'm expecting a statistical aberration and they win. Detroit is on a back to back and will fatigue and give it up in the third.

This team has talent and after the "suck it up buttercup" talk from their Captain, I predict a positive response.

I would like to be the first to thank Kevin Lowe for the lost decade....

Oh good, Eakins demonstrates his continued desire to place fourth liners on the top line. Maybe upping the Ryan content in the top 3 is important to him?

That, and he has no consideration for a message board fan site bet.

Jokes aside, this is crazy. Smyth and Jones in the top 3 all within 15 games. Eek, I guess Pat Quinn and JFJ wasn't so bad after all.

To be a little fair, injuries have forced his hand a little. There's no way Jonesy OR Smytty are in the top 6 if everyone's healthy. Ugh, this is likely to be an ass-whipping.

I'm predicting Kronwall leaves his feet for a predatory hit.

Oh wait, he does that every night.
