I know that this has been mentioned a few times by the local hockey pundits, however I've taken a look at some of the highlight packages on the Hitmen website... I'd encourage others to take a look as well.

He really looks like a smooth customer. Great skater, excellent with the puck, great vision and a sick shot.

He could be a late round gem. Here's an example of one of the highlight packages that I was watching... he's always in the mix.

As a season ticket holder to the dub for the past 2 years, I'm confident he could make a great pest at any level of hockey.

The rest of it I'm not so sure of at "any" level though.

Very impressive game he had in that video though. I look forward to the Hitmen when he arrives again as a result of seeing those clips, for sure.

The Oilers have to be very happy about how both Chase and Moroz have started this season. Very nice to see.

Chase with a hat trick, now 13g-9a-22pts in 16 games, and a mean streak. Pretty good pick for a 7th rounder.

I watched him live last week when the Hitmen were in town to play the Giants. He was pretty quiet offensively, despite getting some power play time. The Hitmen in general were pretty bad that game, except for Virtanen who was exceptional.

One thing I did notice about Chase is that he definitely lives up to the pest moniker. Pretty much every stoppage in play, he was doing little things to rattle the opposition. Simple little things like jabbing someone with his stick just enough for them to notice him, as he skated by to set up for a faceoff or skated to the bench. It drew at least a marginal reaction 9 times out of 10. He's a decent stickhandler-- I didn't get much of a sense for his shot. Positioning seemed good, though he lost a few battles along the boards.

Good review Doc, I'll try to record him next time they play on Shaw.

Remember his dad on the Team 1260?
that's where he gets his peskiness from. Confrontation is something they seek, not avoid.

These are the kind of guys the Oil need to draft more of. Pesky, unafraid, love to mix it up.

Not good qualities for a human being, great qualities in a hockey player.

Yeah went to the game. The whole Hitmen team was pretty frustrated and Chase did not back down from anything. Seemed like he was in every scrum, every quality chance they had. Oilers need a pest like him, a guy to give everyone a little more energy, and he can put up points at this level too.

On another note, Moroz looks good too. Alot better than last year.

3 points in a 3-2 win over the OK's today.

Played very well. 76 points in 63 games. Those are Lazar numbers.

You know what the funny thing is? Kid is already 204 lbs which would put him 4th on the current Oilers roster in terms of most weight by forwards.

Ha! OK then, 1 year, ... and he'll be taking T. Hall's lunch money!

That is a sorry stat.. no wonder the Oilers play so weak.. beacuse they freaking are! Fire the strength coach and ditch the joke of a program they have!

RNH is coached by his older brother, who is a kiniseology student at McGill, maybe he needs a change.

Nuge just has that wire frame that has to fill out in its own time. I was the same way at that age. Nothing to do but be patient and keep eating cheeseburgers.

G. Chase had a rough game last night, +1, and a -4, equals a -3 overall.
Kootenay winning 6-5 in a barnburner, lead series 3-2. 5 games, 23 goals for KTN, 22 goals for CAL.

Nice. But, I doubt he scores if Dubs was in net deadhorse

First guy since Eberle to get an ATO contract before his last year in junior and he's a 7th rounder. While he certainly earned it this winter, ya gotta think this is a little gift from the Oilers. Like a promise ring. Don't want him going back in the draft after next season.

Given Nelson's experience with the core while down in OKC, I'm not convinced the Oilers still aren't tanking.
