Pointless nitpick: I’d announce the trainers, coaches, and injured players BEFORE the players on the ice for tonight. I got the bends going from Connor McDavid to Devin Shore.

Play by play guy is infinitely better than last year. Much more relaxed as opposed to nervous, and more emotion. Hope he keeps improving.

Agreed. He’s not screaming about routine plays so far, which was my biggest gripe with him last year.

What a mug on Jesse. I picture this being Oscargasm’s “o” face when he scores.

Not that I consider this often, but for whatever reason it’s crossed my mind on occasion.

Now I am picturing that as well. If the time comes where I cross paths with 'Gasm IRL it is going to be real awkward.

As one of the bigger JP fans around I couldn't be happier to see him score the first goal. I honestly dont know how anyone could dislike the guy. He just seems so happy to be playing hockey. Reminds me of the days when I coached little kids!

I want to see this kid as a long-term Oiler. He legitimately looks like he loves being on the ice because he loves the game and the payday is just a bonus.

While I respect wanting to jump in and defend a teammate, the rules don't really let you do it that way anymore. Stupid fight to do.

Wishing Holland would have resigned Puljujarvi this past offseason... I don’t know how they fit his 8X5.5 on the books.

Pains me to say this... but Cassie shouldn’t be wearing pink. That blouse just... isn’t doing her any favours.

I’m not sure anyone in the league trusts him even if he puts up 25.

Style discussion! I'll take that on as a guy who's color choices usually include shades of grey and of course, black! I don't envy women trying to dress, let's put it that way. You want a lousy dresser on a panel, look no further than Anthony Stewart, dude just doesn't have the shape for a good suit. Friedman is looking somewhat muted, his outfits can be overly flamboyant....or maybe it was the beard and the covid hair.

I like Friedman’s style, normally. Ive always thought Cassie had decent style, she’s had some nice outfits on the panel but tonight’s blouse is just not good.

Stewart is terrible. His dress and his takes.

Bieksa has that build and style that screams WAP. Haha

I've been worried a lot in the off-season how Hyman would look. I had heard he played on the top line in Toronto a lot so I was hoping that this wasn't one of those things where the linemates made him look better. But in the game he has looked solid, and plays a style that the Oilers have really been missing.

I was quite vocal about not liking the makeup of that second line, but I have to say Hyman and Nuge seem to work well together.

It’s also leading me to having Yamo as my whipping boy this year tho. 😶

Haha hey you said it, not me. The fact that a post from like a month ago is still taking up space in your head is pretty interesting though

He shouldn’t even be wearing a mask, he’s fully vaxxed. What a ridiculous charade to have the entire team out there and make coaches/trainers wear it even u know damn well they don’t in practice, locker rooms, flights etc.

And the fact that his mask wearing bothers you despite being vaxxed… crazy

lol, was it just once? I think you very predictably would chime in with some anger like half a dozen times in a row every time someone brought up masks :) Pretty solid inside joke for the forum I thought.

Rules say he has to wear one, so I still do think it's hilarious how he's half hanging out of the ones he picks all the time.

Boooo!

I mean... give them that many pop’s and they’re going to pot one.

Yes, I believe that was PP 4 since the Oilers went up by 2. I wonder why?

Game management by refs is the absolute worst.

Canuck’s tie it up.

Leon gets away with a trip. It’s ridiculous.

The Oilers did seem to play the entire third period in the defensive shell. I didn't see too many penalties that shouldn't have been penalties. We just tried to wait out the clock all night, and it didn't work.

We were lucky to walk away with the win, but I'll take it.

Overwhelm them in the first and cruise to a win isn’t going to work with this team. Need to keep the throttle up because we are not a shutdown team.

I’m really hoping Tippett uses this as a wake up early on.
