That was aweful. I think Nurse gave it away every time he touched the puck. Drai with a bad one as well.
Zero threat at any point.

Overall they have played a better game. I even saw a couple of hits. So it isnt all bad but man there is some bad decision making on this team.

Nurse is playing awful, he looks like a rookie out there, dopey, dopey, dopey..

Nygard looking good, new D additions KR and Lagesson playing well

Does Koskinen maybe struggle to pick up pucks from the point? Was a major issue in the Blackhawks series and continues to be an issue so far this year. Even when he makes those stops, often they seem to be poorly handled, leading to bad rebounds...

Well I don’t think he has a glove hand, but I place more of the blame on defensive structures. The Oilers seem to allow shots from the point to be tipped by open men with an alarming frequency. I didn’t see that from the hawks or in the rest of the playoffs. It’s not swarm bad, but it’s still bad.

Feel a lot better if we could see the effort in the 7 minutes of the period all the time. Either the timing is off with these guys or they look lazy at times. Too much talent there to be so suck.

Koskinen has no clue so far. No glove control. Not tracking the puck and poor rebound control when he does see it.

All this bring said and you win 3 in a row and you’re a world beater. Let’s start with one after a great 3rd period.

Admittedly I haven't watched more than 4 total periods of non CDN division hockey but this team reminds me a lot of the bottom 5 type teams of the last 15 years.
Too many passengers.
Too many vanishing acts.
Very little GAF

And the above is mostly in relation to the "good" players on the team. I dont even blame the lower end players, most of them are in a role one or more slots higher then they should be so what could be expected.

I already feel a lot like I did during return to play 1.0. I was so excited that hockey was back. Excited enough to have some optimism and turn a blind eye to warts this team continues to have. The kick back to reality is square in the junk.

I think I'm done gents. Are Lagesson and Yams the best Oilers tonight? For real?

Playing better D doesn't mean accepting shutout hockey for the remainder of the year. FFS.

I'd replace Kahun with Nygard, way more jam and skill.
Replace Turris with McLeod. Hope Ennis and Neil get btter soon.

C. Jones should sit, he's not better than Laggesson or KR.

Jones shouldn't see the ice for at least a couple of weeks. Lagesson looks better than he does, by a lot. Russell is a better defensive Dman as well.

For all the talk about how Caleb came to camp with purpose and determination, he sure came out of the gates like a turd. That said, most of the team did as well.

I hate that I'm already gearing up for a "savage the Oilers in my comments consistently" kind of season.

This organization though... omfg.

All right, time to get the PP some spark here and make this a game.

I REALLY wish they would try someone other than Chiasson at the net front spot.

Brutal. Not sure how else to say it.

Goaltending the issue? No. I mean, yes. It is an issue. But it’s just the start of problems this team has right now.

Would be nice to see someone give a frick

Agree, for all of the talk on here and everywhere else about the goalie offseason and waiver roulette Kosko has been pretty low on the list of issues with this team through 4 games. He isnt stealing any games but there hasnt been a lot of terrible goals.

The only guy who I think I'd give a passing grade to in all 4 games has been Yamo.

I'd be surprised if we see the ice without at least one of McD and Drai for the final ten. Maybe some late game magic but it's to imagine. MTL is doing a good job of eating clock, trapping the neutral zone and then collapsing 4 or 5 deep in the D-zone. Wont be a lot of open ice and I cant see the Oilers committing to the amount of grimy play that will be needed to break through.

Oilers have played like absolute butt these two games. But! The Habs are a dang good hockey team. Some of those that I laughed at for picking them to win the north, I may owe an apology to. May.

Yep, they dont have the star power but they are playing pretty good hockey if these two games are a true sample.

The Leafs might win 8-0 on Wednesday. Yikes.

The Oil have 3 shots through 11 minutes this period. What is this team doing?

Just completely folding in this game.

Can we just send the Oilers to the golf course already?
