Best guess at lineup tonight after optional skate:
Lucic-McDavid-Rattie
Rieder-Draisaitl-Spooner
Khaira-RNH-Puljujarvi
Gambardella-Brodziak-Kassian

Nurse-Petrovic
Manning-Larsson
Jones-Benning

Koskinen #Oilers
Again this is just a guess. Unsure of 1LW, but top pair is for sure

From being healthy scratched in Florida to the top pair in Edmonton. Yup, this should go super well. All three of those D pairs are going to get manhandled.

Oilers Goal Differential
17/18: 234 GF / 263 GA (-29)
18/19: 232 GF / 274 GA (-42)
19/20 (82 game pace): 257 GF / 254 GA (+3) in 64 games
2021 (82 game pace):269 GF / 235 GA (+34) after 38 games

Lolcic back on the 1st line. Didn't take long to go full circle.

Chia would definitely proudly agree that 2nd D pair is not sexy.

The 8 wingers in that line-up have a combined 12 goals this year. Anyone that thinks this team should be trading away draft picks for rentals at this point is nuts in my book.

Are they healthy scratching Yamamoto already?!?

Also, must-win?

The Oilers are undefeated this season when I’m in attendance (0-0-0). Let’s hope they can keep that streak alive.

Hoping for a New Years Eve miracle, no Buff helps.

I wonder with the potential defence pairings, do they just balance out the minutes more rather than play the piss out of Nurse and Larsson like they were. If anything, it will be interesting.

Better than Caggiula, all you need to know.

Lucic on the first line with McDavid could be Chiarelli’s farewell gesture.

Worth noting - Gambardella is older than Caggiula and this is his first NHL game. I wouldn’t count on him being a significant upgrade. Some of that is because Caggiula was signed by the Oilers, so rushed in to the NHL straight out of college without much (any?) pro seasoning, but let’s not imagine we are bringing in a fresh talent with a long development curve ahead of him here...

Hoping for a Jet win. Lose until this GM problem is fixed. Season is lost. Was lost in September.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

It was lost two summers ago when Sekera was injured and Chia didn’t do anything to fill in the D gap. And then the same exact thing echoed this summer.

Lose and we are back to exactly .500 and Jersey just got back to 1 game under.

Being an OIlers fan is pretty consistent torture.

Petro-Nurse could actually be a half decent pairing. Petro has been garbage as of late. I'm curious to see how he responds to playing in Oilers silks. The majority of his family will likely be at the game tonight and this was his favorite team as a child so it's going to be interesting to see how hard he battles tonight.

...Manning though? Ugh. I've got a really bad feeling about this...

Hitchcock in his interview stated that he spoke to Quennville about Manning. I'm assuming it was before they made the trade. They are admittedly third pairing guys but almost certainly an upgrade on what they traded away. As to the game...go Koskinen go!
