The guy can hit, so it might not be great for the Oil when we play them, if he gets a spot, and is vengeful.

The funny part is that they also picked up Mike Kostka, the former Leaf. The Blackhawks seem to be emulating the Oilers in picking up depth defencemen but theirs are a slight cut below ours in quality.

Peckham can keep down a regular NHL career if he got his head right.

Grebs maybe not so much. And I like the guy.

I think this goes to that discussion about requiring a constant supply of cheap depth if you are paying big dollars to your top six or seven players...

That said, I wish Peckham well. I still feel the Oilers mishandled that situation this year and should have done something to maximize the asset if nothing else. Benching him for an entire season is ridiculous.

This is another reason I'm glad that Krueger is gone.

Theo Peckham signed with the Blackhawks. 1 year / $575 000 (2 way) #RDS

Oooh! Minimum NHL salary and a 2 way contract. That screams AHLer-NHL tweener. Easy to send down, easy to keep.

If he stays in the NHL, he'll have to earn every minute.

Ive always loved Teddy Peckmans willingness to mix it up and play with passion. Krueger poorly handled his team and even if Peckham didnt have the talent he always made up for it with effort. Good on him for landing on his feet.
