Tense, tense. Last 2 games, cripes.

This was pretty special for me, had my family including my wife and my oldest daughter who are not hockey fans, as well as my youngest daughter all watched the whole game. Usually I'm by my lonesome, this was awesome.

Just a great game by our team. LD still pretty effective on one and a half legs, I was scared he was going to be a liability defensively but wasn't bad because outside of draws he wasn't really playing center role. Need him at full, or closer to it to go any farther. McDavid wasn't gonna be denied. Smith Shutting the door. Ceci. Playoff Kassian. McLeod with by far his best game as an Oiler...by far.

Should have been 5 -0. McDavid with 6 shots on like a dozen attempts or whatever. Yams with 2 big chances. Nuge on the PP, had the whole top of the net, and 5v5. Kane. Archibald on the breakaway.

Nurse, hard to say, there's an issue there, or staying really conservative. Need him. Hope JP gets some mojo somehow, be nice to have him confident.

Great day, TO out again, we advance, now need a Calgary fold tomorrow night for the trifecta.

This team plays right and gets decent tending, they can beat anyone.

Quick made it so much harder than it had to be. He had 4 or 5 just amazing games in this series. Was surprised he still had it in him, but I guess I shouldn't. No matter how bad he played over the last 5+ years, he always seemed to get up for us (I blame the Yak knee slide goal). Nice to be able to put him behind us.

Really hope that style of game is what we get to keep seeing. D stepping up on everyone, was so hard for Kings to make plays entering our zone. Forwards supporting able to jump on pucks that broke loose. So little of that in most of the games in this series. But that is the stuff that got us on our run when Woodcroft took over. Keep it up!

Drai, please let that ankle have some miraculous healing over the next few days.

Key to winning, no backing in and letting movement in your zone create open opportunities, if you have back pressure at the same time and you get beat on the step up by a good play, forward support is there. Gaps were good tonight.

That celly by McDavid I'm not sure it's going to replace Yak's as the best against the Kings, but he did have a good attempt at it.. doh

It was in fact the same game. He barely missed a shift after that career-ending injury. Still assume he must be somehow related to Gumby.

McDavid willed that series. Incredible performance, especially in games 6 and 7.

Forget his game winner, I don’t think Ceci made a mistake all series.

I wanted Smith to not be here early in the season, but aside from a big gaffe in game 1 he gave us a great series of goaltending. Two shutouts, and .938 save percentage. With that kind of stat line you wonder how it went to 7 games.

At least 2 days of rest for Leon. We’ll need him.

First time I’ve witnessed my team win in game 7. Tonight was beautiful.

That was the best game by Connor I’ve ever seen. 97 is dialed in.

Hell of the game by the whole team. I felt they came out ready to go again. When they do that, they can beat any team in my opinion.

McD was unreal. I think he has figured out what it takes to win in the playoffs. He was giving max effort, playing hard hockey, back checking, not cheating for offense and doing all the little things.

Leon is a beast. Clearly hurting but he gutted it out and was able to contribute to the team.

Archibald was very good again. He played his ass off, probably should have had a goal or 2 if he had any lucky. I doubt spreadsheets that make the case for some players, measure intensity. The intensity of the playoffs ramps up big time and every player needs to ramp up his level of compete. He does that.

Ceci. One hell of a signing. The guy has just been flat out GOOD all year and was great last night. Solid defensively, competes hard, skates well, moves the puck, defends well, even bringing offense. He's only making 3.25 so with the way he's playing and what he does for the Oilers, grossly underpaid. Whatever Nurse might make that's too much, Ceci makes that much less than he should so it evens out.

Smith was great when needed again. The old man continues to give the middle finger roo anyone who doubted him. To my shock, he still has that high level even at 40. I hope it continues because if it can, the Oilers are a dangerous team.

Those were my stand outs but the whole team played well.

I wanted Smith to not be here early in the season, but aside from a big gaffe in game 1 he gave us a great series of goaltending. Two shutouts, and .938 save percentage. With that kind of stat line you wonder how it went to 7 games.

Not to take anything away from him, because he was as good as he needed to be in the 3rd, but the team in front of him really limited anything dangerous from getting through. Everything was guys taking shots from the outside or from the points. I didn't see a ton of cross crease passes for one-timers, it was all just a guy skating in and taking a shot.

Look at the Kings heat map vs the Oilers in that game. A bit in tight by the crease, but then everything else is from the faceoff dots and out.

No disrespect to Ceci, we can’t talk about him enough but holy crap did Bouch impress the heck out of me with that game last night. He and Keith seemingly tasked to the Danault line and kept them quiet.

Also. Anyone else notice in the team celly after the buzzer, Keith going ham on Connor?? Amazing. Keith was so amped up.

One of the knocks on Bouchard at the draft and for the last few years as he came up was is lack of urgency and overall compete. He's ramped it up a lot in the playoffs. You don't have to be a dman that tries to run a forward through the boards to play with intensity and compete and he has done that. I am hoping the light has gone on for him and this is how he plays not just in the playoffs but overall moving forward because with his level of skill, if he plays with the same level of try most of the time, he will be one hell of a dman.

I thought after a couple of rough games in 4 & 5, Keith and Bouchard were real good in 6 and 7 and were real good in games 1-3.

Yup the only thing I yelled at Bouch about was not getting pucks through offensively, but LA gets in front of everything. Keith's gaps on entries were way better.

How's everyone feeling this morning? Bright and sunshiny? Ready to take on your day?

Please do not feed the bears. Feeding the bears creates a dependent population unable to survive on their own. Bears.

Yeah, I was wondering what kind of day Sunday was going to be 24 hours ago.

It could have been a pouring rain today, but still felt like the best day ever.

1-0 Stars.

I'm a lot concerned that we seem to be back to 'you've got to murder a guy to get a penalty' refereeing. Either Calgary or Dallas will take huge advantage of that. Oilers are at a house disadvantage if it turns into a rodeo.

Worth pointing out - Singh's call on that game winner is great. Nothing boring about that one.

Was going to post some credit for him too. He has improved a lot. Great work in our series.
