No truer works have been spoken. I know fans are holding their breath for the first shot then the first 5 mins. I wonder how much it is on the minds of the players.

It's weird how almost every Oilers goalie has been the apparent cause of this way of thinking with the players for almost a decade now. Many goalies that went on to be perfectly fine somewhere else.

Bergeron vs. Barrie is a mismatch.

Do we have the worst special teams in the league over the last few games?

Just 3.75 more seasons!

If only Bear hadn't had that one giveaway that one time...

I still feel the Larson “snub” made Holland react the way he had with the subsequent Barrie and Ceci signing and bear trade.

Ceci has been pretty good tho, can’t deny it.

Barrie has not been good. In any facet of the game. I’ll take the L as I was a supporter of bringing him back.

A right side of Bear/Ceci/Bouch could have worked well.

Ceci, while overpaid, has been fine. I'd have been fine with him as the third guy with Bear and Bouchard. Preferably for a smaller dollar and/or shorter term, but even that I could forgive.

A lot of that is really on Tippett. If he had played Bouchard last year, maybe there's better confidence in his abilities and there isn't the hand-wringing about whether or not he can make the jump. I'm sure sitting watching hockey all year was great for his development though...I also think his ridiculous double standard on mistakes is a big reason Bear is gone and we have Keith and Barrie.

Marchand vs. Barrie is a mismatch.

That was a little scary.

These refs aren't just incompetent, its as if they're in on some kind of scam. Those 2 calls on Leon were imaginary. Then the non-call on the trip to 56 leading directly to a goal, right in front of ref, like he's saying "so what, what are you going to do about it.. dopes.. we're untouchable.. lmao "

Take Barrie off, trade him, waive him, don't care.
That's on Tippet for still trying to get Barrie to do something on the powerplay, Barrie can't skate and can't seem to ever manage to get an open shot, and if he does its a chocolate chip muffin.
The guy should be off the PP, and dropped down to 3rd pair at 5 minutes a game, or press box.

Another loss.

lol, just decided defense was optional for the last 5 mins. Sadly a well deserved goal against.

This team really does not play defense well enough to think they can just hold on for ties or 1 goal wins.

I wish Bouchard got more games last year.

He has a ways to go.

It is pretty crazy that the team went from not playing him all last year, to uncertain what role he'd be able to play this summer, to playing him as the top RHD. It would be nice if we'd had someone on the roster who could at least push him to the #2 slot. I think he's been pretty darn good, but he's still a youngster so there's still going to be some learning moments.

Good thing we have just the coach to teach people those moments.
