I’m glad I stayed up for this. Darnell looking like Pronger out there. Fellas are giving it their all.

JP still has some jump... maybe TIPP could see that and get him back up with 97/29. And then spot 56 with McLeod for a couple of shifts... the extra speed would be a big difference now.

...this time, it's for real (isn't it?).

Of course they don't call any of the goddamned interference that they run on the Oilers all the effing goddamned time. And Haas gets an over the glass penalty. Lame af.

The refs can go to hell.

a little anticlimactic. No shame to lose 3 OT games to the JETS. And another by 1 goal, not counting the ENGs.

As good as SMITH was, HELLE and the general JET depth was the difference.

The OIL are still basically a one-line team. As long as TIPPETT integrates McLeod and develops more trust with PJ, this team will dominate the PACIFC DIV next season.

I was high on MacLeod when he first arrived but he isn't ready, at least at center, couldn't make proper reads all series, lots of chances against, I was thinking he'd take a roster spot next year, but not so sure now, we'll have to probably do better than that to be competitive.

Ethan Bear gets on for one solitary shift in 3 periods.. late coming off .. bad change.. end of season.
I think there are some roster openings for RH D next year.. Bear is one of them.
See ya folks.

Coaching decision. Ugh.

But McDavid didn't get the puck down low when he had to.

Stupid line change mistake and that’s the season. Thanks for the support, Holland. Glad to waste Smith’s best ever hockey. Please don't re-sign him. This will not be repeated.

The thing is, Smith isn’t a big cap hit at all, so he could stick around at least as a backup if Holland could somehow offload Koski’s contract.

True. But if Smith is counted on as anything other than a backup next year, then we’re in trouble.

Just cherry-picking Iginla style. Standing at the opposite blue line while the play was in his zone.

Just identifying a bad line change by Bear that left the entire right side wide open and gettign in position.

Oilers kept setting up set plays instead of pumping shots at Hellebuyck - constantly went into PP formation that the Jets could read and react to.

I nominate Ethan Bear Goat of the Series.. Archi gets 2nd place.

Ethan Bear punches a puck in his own net in game 3, then serves up un-forced pizzas in both games 3 & 4.. back to back games.. not a quick learner.. then a poor change for the OT loser.
Got caved all series.

That kind of player is replaceable.

IMO we have 2 legit top 4 D-men, Nurse and Larsson.. Holland should be looking for 2 more.
Koekoek is OK in 3rd pair.. Bouchard next year at 3rd pair RHD

Not sure why Tippet didn't put in Koekkoek instead of Bear in OT, Koekoke was way better all series.

With the points total that Barrie put up, he has likely priced himself out of the Oil’s plans for next year.

Uncle Bobby on CHED is saying Larsson will be a top priority, maybe the top priority, in the off season.

No Cups

It’s all enraging.

No killer instinct
No ability to simplify and play calmly with a lead
No depth (although some depth guys played well tonight)
Too many gaffes - and that includes #97 with a couple glaring ones
Horrible reffing - the NHL is the worst pro sports league by a mile for officiating
Painfully bad play-by-play

I guess the silver linings are:
Cap space
Normal Divisional play next year and in-person games
Don’t need to burn data plan to stream games while camping.

Re: playxplay.. worse I can remember.
Dustin Nielson does better when he does the Spengler.

yeah positives.. Summer starts now.. get out of the house.. bars and restaurants might be opening again here in BC next week, don't need to watch hockey anymore.. shutdown my Center Ice, see if I can get a refund!

Another positive is I think Holland and company were forced to realize there are a lot more holes in the roster than they thought, might need to get ruthless.

Took Tippet too long to find out who his best players were.. Ennis, Haas, should have been playing earlier.

Feel bad for McD and LD.. but more for McD. Only one guy on the team with the skill and smarts to play with him, and its LD.. has to change, need more roster options.
