OMG OMG IT'S A BOA! Weird we had to wait till December 27th for the first one. I fully expect Lucic to be an absolute goon tonight... Maybe it's just me but the Flames always seem so much more fired up for these games than the Oilers.

Time to hop back on the MUST WIN train, aaaaaaaaaaall abooooard!

First this season and now we get 4 in 37 days.
I hope Lucic doesnt go full animal. He did seem well liked by most teammates and I would hate to see Nurse punch him out.

After a few days of festive drinks with family and friends I go back to using alcohol to numb my sadness.

I posted this back at the start of Dec

PlusOne wrote on Fri, 06 December 2019 10:50

The month of December and specifically these early games will likely be seen as a turning point for this team.
I heard today they only play one team currently above them in the standings, the Blues. The rest are lower to middle class teams that a playoff contender should be beating.

If they struggle against the lower teams, as they did last game, and lose a handful we will all look back at this time and see where the season went wrong.

If they can come out of it with a large point percentage, the playoffs will all but be guaranteed, given the early season cushion they built. The good news is they have not had a real losing streak this year.

Hopefully the come out tonight with some proper effort and put the boots to the Kings.

Unfortunately Dec has not gone well. The end of Dec and the month of Jan are now all Must Win given the team will be well out of playoff seed if they go like the last 4 weeks have.

Hoping for the best but prepared for the worst in this one.

I'd bet my house that either Rieder or Lucic scores tonight.

First meeting since Gio's attack on Connor. I don't see Gio dropping his gloves, also who does he fight?

Oilers need to stay away from Tkachuk trying to cause poop. They need the 2 points badly. I think the extra ciricular stuff will hurt the Oilers more, especially with the non calls they get every single game.

The Vanocuver loss stings, especially with the way they tied it. Flaems have a game in hand and are 1 point behind Edmonton.

This is as MUST WIN as you can get.

Forward lines per Stauf;

Draisaitl-McDavid-Kassian
Neal-RNH-Archibald
Khaira-Sheahan-P Russell
Nygard-Haas-Chiasson
Granlund-Gagner

Interesting to see Archi and Sheahan split up. Truly think they should send PRussell down, bring up Benson and see if he can find any chemistry with RNH and Neal and keep Arch/Sheahan together.

Must win?

Tippett loves him some P.Russell! Aside from Jumbo Joe, he's the best 0 goal scoring forward in the league IMO (min 350 minutes played). Jankowski can eat his dust.

We know how this always goes. The coach splits the top two guys up for now but as soon as we are down a goal Archibald and Sheahan will be back together.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

As the saying goes, you should just stick with what you know works. They call that duo "Shebald" for a reason.

Forget Lucic and Reider scoring tonight, what period does Jankowski get his goal in??

Yes. I’m quoting my own reply.

Jankowski looks to be scratched for tonight so guaranteed we won’t be breaking his slump!

Kids are used to the PA Raiders rink where you can bring in your own food, sit in random seats or until this season stand on a milk crate for better viewing. It’ll de finitely be a culture shock for them tonight.

The Clampets move to Beverly Hills.
