The Oilers should be rested. This is an opportunity to win another game against a team who's supposed to be a good West team but is depleted.

I assume they did the owner's golf outing with their day off in Phoenix.

If Colorado was a crappy team, I'd be worried about the chance of a crap effort. They aren't.

I expect it to be a good game and hopefully the Oilers can come out with the win. It's already a good road trip, it would be a hell of a road if they won this one.

Some of the best McDavid games have been against players who are also in the category of best in the game...MacKinnon's one of those, so hopefully 97 puts on a show tonight.

I just need good goaltending and decent defence. Is secondary scoring too much to ask?

...but yeah decent goaltending.

The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.

Generally Disappointed.

The secondary scoring seems to be coming around a little, but I still trust the D to put a few more pucks in than the third and fourth lines. Gagner hopefully won’t have to fill in too long for RNH.

I think it was KR55 who posted last year that Teams in the playoff hunt at American Thanksgiving have a good chance of making the playoffs. Things are pretty tight this season and the Oilers history in the Katz era is one of blown opportunities, but as an Oiler fan I’m, shall we say, cautiously optimistic.

Go Oilers.

Cautiously optimistic for this season seems like the right place to be. The Oilers are in a really good position in a really bad division while playing occasionally darn good hockey. They'll have to really screw up this season for it to go into the toilet.

Injury Report:

OILERS - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (hand) is day-to-day; Matt Benning (concussion) is on IR.

AVALANCHE - Mikko Rantanen (lower body) is on IR; Gabriel Landeskog (lower body) is on IR; Colin Wilson (lower body) is on IR; Matt Calvert (head) is on IR; Erik Johnson (undisclosed) is day-to-day.

We are missing one of our best players and they have two of their best out. Should be an advantage but this Colorado team is playing really well most nights in spite of key injuries.
Go Oilers !
