There needs to be a bullseye painted on that picture or the image of a scope sight superimposed over it. I don't care how bad my taste may be in saying it again, I'm just sick and tired of this garbage and don't give a flying @@$@ HOW it gets solved, even if it involves homicide. The front office has to be blown up completely, either figuratively or with several pounds of C4.

So, are ticket renewals seriously about to happen? Lots of the super expensive seats that were on 3 year contracts expiring?

Are people and businesses in AB finally going to be wise with their money after 3 years of the oil and gas industry being hammered?

Even with the industry in woes, some exec will find an excuse to keep buying them so they can keep their bragging rights and status. We live in an era where executives give themselves massive bonuses as companies crash down in flames bankrupt.

Fingers crossed there finally are not enough of these guys to buy them all.

Definitely agree with you though, companies and industries crashing does not mean the guys up top are the ones losing.

I think it's a lot closer to happening than you think. My company, who is a rather larger Oilers sponsor, was on a knife's edge about renewing their seats and advertisements this summer. The economy hasn't gotten better and the team hasn't gotten better. Is anyone actually getting value for their ticket / ad dollar?

Betcha they still do. People are suckers and it only takes one moment of weakness to sign the cheque. Just one little ounce of hope that this is the year they finally take a step forward. Cha-ching.

Yeah probably. I guess I'll just prepare for another round of summer layoffs to pay for them.

This is more in line with the response I am seeing as well. The rate of return on tickets just simply isn't there. Now obviously there is companies who keep them because the owners are fans and it's tax free tickets, that it's a status symbol or to appease a few long term clients who have expectations of having access to free tickets, but in my opinion, many more are questioning the value than ever before.

Man, at box games, very few people care about the game.

It's all about conversation and relationship building. They could sub in the Condors for the Oilers, so long as McDavid was still in the line-up, no one would notice or care - at all.

2015/2016 - This Kool-Aid tastes like McDavid flavoured Drain-O.
2016/2017 - This Kool-Aid is starting to taste like juice.
2017/2018 - I'm drinking this Kool-Aid, in hopes that it's Drain-O.
2018/2019 - Another round of Drain-O, good sir!

Are the tickets really tax free? It's it something like you can deduct 50% of the cost from taxable income? So, you get what? ~30% of 50% of the cost back? So, 16k ticket for one of the loge seats, you save around 2.5k off your taxes? You still paid 13.5k though for that seat in the end.

Just another in a long list of games that the Oilers show up 2 periods late. Another in a long list of Cam Talbot appearances where the first frigging shot against finds twine.

They don't look like a team that's serious about a playoff spot. Disappointing once again, another in the countless number of times over the last 12 years.

I took the wife to the game. I wish I could get my gas and parking money back. Disappointing doesn't really cut it.

Can someone explain to me what the point of having Yamamoto up is? There might be a player there but he's not close yet. I was in my company lower bowl seats. They are row 2 in a corner near a face off circle. Second period, Yam is up with McDavid and Nuge. They are getting ready. I could see Yamo asking McDavid where he should stand and McDavid said nothing. Then Yamo yells to Nuge and Nuge says nothing. Now at this point it was 4 or 5-1 and maybe they didn't hear him because the music was blaring but to me, it looked like they were ignoring him. Sort of a sign like "freakking great, he's on our line, we get to drag him around." Maybe I am reading into it too much.

I like Larsson A LOT but holy hell the guy is playing bad. Like really bad. His interview sums it up, he can't do anything.

Jones, I think there is a player there but MAN he is making some costly mistakes. I am not so sure I can even chalk it up to inexperience. The stuff he is doing is DUMB. He at least didn't be the primary assist on a goal against like he was against Calgary or Vancouver but WOW. If he would just do like BASICS he would probably be OK.

Both Kassian and Brodziak need to spend a couple of hours doing nothing but the horse shoe. What I mean is get the skate from the corner, get up your speed, get the puck at full speed, skate towards the goal, shoot the puck and HIT THE FREAKING NET!!. Brodziak missed at least 2 point blank chances where he was was dead center, 20 ft out and put it wide or over. Kassian missed at least 2 himself.

Goaltending. Just isn't good enough. The Oilers were a pile of garbage but the goaltending, especially Talbot wasn't good enough. I am big time on tone setting events. When you let in a goal 28 seconds in on the first shot, that sets a tone to me. Was it a great chance? YES. But it was an unscreened, low shot. Make and freaking save. Goalies NEED to make big saves at big times. That's their damn job. He makes a big save there, it maybe shakes the team and they wake up. Instead, it goes in, puts them behind the 8 ball, they are already pressing because they are behind and to me, tells the team that Talbot might not be on tonight. He hasn't been "ON" a lot of nights. He's let in a lot of first shots over the past season and a bit and he wasn't ON because the 3rd goal was awful.

I am pretty fired up. You lose to the Flames, then you follow it up and are even worse. Just a bad, bad, bad night.

I'm going Tuesday night....freebies & I wouldn't go Tier 1 at this point to be honest.

I'm going to guess it finally gets ugly from fans if the Oilers don't show up early in the game once again.

Should have just taken her to Paris...

The Oilers should really do a "value for your money" survey and see what the results look like this year...
