The team starts about the same. I wonder how long it take Hitch to regret these pay cheques.

I wonder who breaks first, the players or Hitchcock?

Ugh, Benning in no-mans land and McDavid slow to rotate to cover.

Chasing Thornton behind the goal line when a man is wide open in front of your net. That always works.

And of course, some 9 career goal scorer snipes the 1 timer top corner

Benning went after him with his stick off the ice, totally unaware of Sorensen behind him wide open. Was a clueless play. He's trying to just put a lame little cross check on thronton on the boards, Thornton is laughing at his man being left alone and Benning making zero effort to cut off a pass.

I'm hoping that Hitch can teach Benning how to play his position. Yeah, I know I'm not likely being realistic.... icon_dead

Christ, Benning is just dead-weight right now. That play on Hertl where he tripped over himself and gave up the breakaway is just brutal....

We've seen that before, he has trouble turning when he has to do it quickly. Not a skill to be lacking when you're supposedly an NHL defenseman.

The PK has looked better already with TMac gone, more aggressive in cutting off shooting lanes and cross-ice passes. It led directly to Nuge's goal on the last Sharks' PP.

In defense of Benning, he was trained to be a NHL player by the Oilers.

Not having to keep up with Connor on rushes will likely do wonders for Loo's endurance levels during a game. That line also looks like its main purpose is to hit opponents to oblivion, and that could work out well.

It was always going to happen, Couture on a 10 game slump, the hockey gods had been kind to us for a change with that double deflection onto the bar.... They had to go against us and that was it.

Much the same as ever watching this team, hopefully once Hitch has a couple of weeks with them we'll see a change.

Hahaha indeed.

And yeah, he’s hands down our better goalie at the moment. He’s able to make a stop when we need. Just unfortunate the D allow so many high grade chances on him.

Bad move by Larsson. But 1 min into his shift, and Klef made him have to race back into position with the limp wiener dump in attempt. Made the hope play with the tank empty and got burned.

Need the period of the season here.
