Our boy Francis St-Laurent is officiating an Oilers game 4 days after the Nashville debacle. Expect to be on the PK a lot and McD to get mugged.

These interference calls are weak.

Yeah, I disagree on that. Looked like textbook interference to me, and the kind I wish they would call every time. Puck was long gone when Klefbom stepped in to him there.

Okay - that one on Draisaitl was terrible. I thought it looked more like Karlsson interfered with Draisaitl!

And how is that NOT interference on Eakin against Nurse?!?? Frustrating when it's so inconsistent.

Agree, and the one earlier on Nurse was BS, yet McD was getting mugged regularly, literally one PP could be called per shift if the rule book was actually applied as strictly as it is against the Oilers.

End of game penalty tally was 6 for Oil, 3 for Vegas.

Looked like a head shot on Nuge.

Hope we're not playing Talbot injured. Still looks slow as heck out there, especially moving across his crease.

That would be ridiculous. Playoffs a distant memory now, and a five day break for him to rest in...there's no reason to play him unless he's in good health.

Well, we have old school management and coaching. They probably like guys playing through injuries and being warriors. He was definitely playing while injured at some point this year, I thought Chia admitted as much. Something they thought could get better with nurturing in breaks, along with whatever is up with klef. Dumb indeed at this point if that's still going on.

Sekera doesn't look healthy. Not moving well at all.

Nice... Nuge in the locker room so Strome gets his spot on the top pp unit... still no Puljujarvi. F. U. TMac.

Just weird units there. And still no one looks like they know where they're supposed to be.

McDavid doesn't even know where to pass to. Dropping pucks to where he expects guys to be. No one even close.

There is no way they are doing anything useful for a real NHL game in practice.

If Todd Nelson can come in to a destroyed dressing room that is playing "shoot from anywhere" on the PP and getting nothing done, and make the unit look like a well oil machine and get a guy like Lander to be a great net front PP presence, I would figure Woodcroft could figure something out with Drai, McDavid, Nuge, Pulju, Sek, Klef, Maroon and others to work with, and having most of those guys to work with for 2 freakin years already.

I really dislike this whole setting up Drai for horrible angle shots thing. Is that one of the brilliant Woodcroft plays?

and I can't friggin believe Letestu was not out to start the PP. He must have an equipment issue.

It is frustrating when the Oilers get a good bounce on the PP and the blocked shot goes right to Letestu with an open net, and he can't one time it. They have to have a player who can spontaneously shoot.

They might have one, but he doesn't speak english well enough to be allowed to shoot on the PP. 2nd unit and right side for you Pulju!

I wonder if McLellan noticed that the 1st unit looked a bit better with 5/5 guys able to actually make a play with their head up. Instead of 3/5.

Can someone explain why the Maroon gets 5 + a game + 2 game suspension for hit on doughty, McNabb hits Nuge in a similar way and not even a bat of the officials eye?

Vegas is a story that must be nurtured by the league. They want more expansion money. Every new team can be an immediate winner!

Really wish they would try to score off their rushes on the PP. As soon as we slam the breaks and set up, you know the opportunity is lost.

I hate that in the last 10-15 minutes of a game, if it's tied, McLellan has the team play to protect the tie. Just terrible.

No joke. 2.5 mins left, after commercial break, he puts out the 4th line. I think I hate him. No, I know I hate him.

Even the last 1:15 - doesn't load up a line or anything, and there's no urgency. I swear - watch the forecheck in any tied game in the third period. You'll never see any high pressure, because you have everyone back behind the centre line but for a single guy. It's so incredibly passive.

He does realize they have to catch EVERYONE, right???
