1 Cup

According to Mirtle's calculations based on some info today, we could see a big rise in the cap next year. Currently it is $75M.

Quote:

If NHL revenues are as robust as Bettman said today, the salary cap will go way up next summer. Plausibly $80- to $82-million. Pretty interesting

Fingers crossed. With McDavid making 12.5M next year we could definitely use more room to keep Nuge and possibly Maroon around.

How could one doubt the braintrust of 6 Cups Kevin Lowe, MacT's E-MBA from Queens, Paul Coffey's skills coach resume, and drunk Gretzky?

It's funny that we need a big cap jump just to keep the status quo...when the status quo currently isn't even a playoff team. I'm guess there will be some rough years ahead where we desperately swap out players at cheap prices with the hopes we get a good fit.

on a positive note, Maroon's new contract is getting cheaper by the day!

I don't know about that.
Last year he had 27 goals, 15 assists, 42 points.
This year he has 7-7-14 in 24 games

If his production stays even he will end around 24-24-48
I believe I read the other day his time on ice is about 2/3 with McDavid, 1/3 without. I believe this was all situations so PP would possibly account for the diff.

Anyway, I think he is on pace to be just as good statistically as last year and have always figured it will come down to him. Does he go for his one and only big payday elsewhere in FA or take big discount to stay.
