So this seems to be the first game in the regular season where the Oil finally have all 6 of their top forwards playing. Let's hope that this leads to a massive offensive outburst and, God willing, a WIN.

If the Oil do win this game, it could perhaps spur the Flyers into making a panic move like the Panthers did (losing to a terrible team and all that). Perhaps MacT could then leverage that into a lopsided trade with them. I can only dream.

Sigh, that was a big "if" on the Oil winning, I guess.

Just let them put the pressure on after the powerplay. Need to kick start themselves again.

It looks like the Flyers' offence is what is getting the kickstart. Just what the doctor ordered for a team that was struggling to score goals- the Oilers and their porous defence. Christ. icon_dead

Why??? He's gone to Calgary!! I'd rather stay with the Oilers playing badly than play for them.

Bryzgalov would have saved the Hartnell goal.

What was that thing that Mason just did there against Hall? What was that? I think was called "making a save".

Gagner is so useless in our own end... Just standing around with no Flyer near him on that 2nd goal.

Hall also decided to go for a skate out of the zone on that one.

Gagner needs the Canucks/Hodgson treatment for the rest of his career I think.

That was an ugly first period, good lord! Dubnyk should have stopped the Hartwell goal, but we are just chasing the Flyers around right now.

I wonder if Bryz' conditioning stint in OKC will just consist of him standing in net while the opposition take potshots at him all game with the OKC defense just sitting there watching? He needs to get used to seeing lots of rubber, especially up close.

I found myself confused by MacT's intermission interview.

MacT: Well, trading Laddy was a result of our play, and we will continue to make those changes until we start seeing what we want on the ice.

Mean Gene: And what would that be?

MacT: Well, like how we played in Tampa, a hardworking team that competes. I thought that was a really strong game for us, and as well the game in Florida too. Played a solid strong game. Obviously this period hasn't gone as we hoped though.

So, you traded him because the team hadn't been playing how you want them to, which is, how they played in the last 2 games? I found it to be odd logics.

Now, he did make a point that trading Laddy also had alot to do with getting depth in the net, as they don't feel strong in that aspect. So I get why they targeted the Calgary kid, but I think we would have been better off sweetening the pot to get an established netminder. When was the last time a good goaltender came through the Oilers system, even though we have drafted many?

Has anyone ever thought that maybe Klowe and MacT are still employed by the Rangers and they're here just to make sure the Oilers are never competitive again? Maybe Glen Sather is an alien and Lowe and MacT are his drones sent here to keep the Oilers from winning which in turns prevents the Oilers from ripping a hole in the fabric of space and time, thereby saving the universe and everyone in it.

Unfortunately, this is the most logical and reasonable explanation I've seen that would explain the actions of the Oilers management over the past 6 years.

Something that sounds like Duck..... The ref kills the game with a call that even the most bush league ref wouldn't call. I hope we appeal that call, and when it's won the ref is suspended for 10 games for calling it.

I was just thinking we might sneak a goal late on to pull it level.

Not at all. If you were a girlfriend who didn't like hockey, and from the kitchen turned your head and saw the play and then didn't look at the tv again, you could maybe think it was a bad hit.

That was a horrific call. No contact to the head. Definitely hit his shoulder, maybe looked a little bad cuz giroux shied away a little. Terrible match penalty call though. Just brutal
