Not loving the early season benching of Yakupov. Less that two minutes ice time in second period and the third least played Oiler so far tonight.

I second this- Smytty has been far worse on the ice but continues to play on the 1st line.

I'm loving Joensuu more and more by the minute, I swear....

Why is Smyth getting ice time? The guy is a boat anchor

Katz is at the game, and Horcoff's gone.

Then I'll just regress, because I feel I've made myself perfectly redundant.

I swear that smyth has spent more time flopping around on the ice like a fish then actually skating. There is no place for this guy on any team in the NHL

Yep there is something wrong with Smytty getting more ice time then Yakupov the great young talent we're suppose to be trying to develop.

A Wing fan that I'm watching the game with is asking where's Yakupov. Hockey fans want to watch him for a reason.

I can honestly say that if i am Hall breaking in on a two-on-one with Smyth as my option, I am shooting that puck every time. Good call Hall.

Jesse Lucic scoring goals, breakin bodies, making enemies chriping on the bench, sticking up for teammates against big boys. Love it.

That one is on Hall and Dubnyk. Very risky pass, and then a shot from WAY out.

Hall's passing has been terrible in the 3rd period, not even counting the cough-up that led to the tying goal for the Jets. He is clearly not comfortable in the center position, and we need Nuge to come back with all speed.

Hall needs to learn patience, in general. As a winger he tries to dangle the whole opposition on his own. As a center he's throwing out gift wrapped turn over passes. He'll figure it out, but it's rough to watch early on. Yikes.

Just for the record, no, Dubnyk hasn't been great tonight. No, he's not this team's biggest issue.

Agree.
Goalies that choke like that will suck the life out of a team, eg. Fleury.
He doesn't seem to be any better than last year, guy is 27, not a rookie, if he hasn't managed to iron that BS out of his game yet, it isn't looking very promising.

Trouba should watch how he hits, if he connected on Hall he woulda chicken winged him. Deliberate elbow.

I can not conceive of any possible reason why smyth got any ice time in the 3rd period at all, let alone nearly a full power play and the last 20 seconds where he basically frozen the puck and the coughed it up.

Also, dubs needs to stop one of those goals tonight, and I can live with his performance... But he's not ready still.
