Should Yakupov wear #10[ 128 vote(s) ]
1.Yes 99 / 77%
2.No 29 / 23%

Now with Shawn Horcoff gone should Yakupov go back to wearing #10 or stay as N64.

Makes sense to me if he wants to switch.

I invested $15 in a #64 Russian Yakupov t-shirt. Has that no meaning to anyone?

This was all so very predictable.

I voted no for you.

Then I'll just regress, because I feel I've made myself perfectly redundant.

Thanks buddy, I don't like to use the word "hero" loosely, but if the hero shoe fits you should wear it bro.

It's completely up to him of course, but I kind of like him as #64. It's a little different and he's redeemed the number from the dark days of Jason Bonsignore.

That said, he wouldn't be the first key Oiler player to switch to a different number. Anyone else remember Weight as #42? Marchant as #36?

I remember Reasoner switching to #19 after someone in the organization told him that no one of significance had ever worn #15...

Yes and I also think that Justin Schultz should pick up number 6 since Whitney was not resigned!

I don't know about that one...#6 is a terrible number. #19, that's classy.

Smyth wearing #10?

I'm with you though, I'd like to see him stick with #64. (Unless of course, he has some personal reason for wearing #10.) I even liked his rationale last summer on whey he chose that number - they gave it to him in camp, so, he stuck with it. Simple. I like it.

I heard his rational was that 6+4=10.

I heard Perron is 57 because that was his first camp number...

The GREATEST 57 ever is still and always will be Steve Heinze. Thats a number that should be retired across the league along with Gretz.

Got some big shoes to fill, Perron 57 ;)

In fairness to Hall, I've wanted to throw a waterbottle at Eakins all season.

He did, and it started with the #10.

What are the chances of number #10 being retired when Horcoff makes the HHOF??? Pffffft I could barely keep straight face typing that one out. N64? Why mess with a good thing?

Losing this year is as golden as a Todd Nelson tan, yeah baby!

Yakupov should wear different colored contacts, the #10, and "Hocoff/Yakupov" on his jersey.

Where did you hear this?

Funny enough, I have a price request out to a friend who seems to have an inside track for hockey jerseys just last night. I requested a large Oilers blue, Yakupov #10. Luckily he won't order under I get the price!

Edit. Looked through Yak's twitter (https://twitter.com/nail10_1993) and didn't find anything. If he's going to stick with 64, may need a new twitter handle!
