Here's the NHL's chance to tack on an extra 5 games. Raffi should just lay low, take his punishment, and while he has time off, think of ways of how to change his game a la Matt Cooke.

Hossa is a member of the NHLPA too.
Wonder what he thinks of the NHLPA appealing this.
This NHLPA seems like a rudderless ship....

I don't really see any issue with that, but the fact that Bettman is the one that hears the appeal (and is also the one that decides if the appeal should even be heard) is ludicrous.
They really need some sort of panel to determine suspensions, with a NHL rep, an NHLPA rep, and an independent third party.
Hopefully they address it in the new CBA.
Then I'll just regress, because I feel I've made myself perfectly redundant.

As reported in The Globe and Mail.......
...Bettman announced a 21-game ban for Torres on Monday, down from Shanahan’s original ruling of 25 games on April 21. It was an extremely rare move by the commissioner. One thing he and Shanahan agreed on was the dangerous nature of the play.

21 games is still quite the suspension. I think he should be out for as long as Hossa is though, that hit was awful (given today's standards). But if it were even 15 years ago, I doubt he'd even get a game. How times change.
5 Cups and counting.
