According to The Hockey News, the NHL is investigating allegations that Oilers assistant coach Paul Coffey allegedly made racist gestures to a fan with a turban during game 1.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time Coffey has found himself in the midst of such a situation. Back in 2014, while coaching minor hockey, he was suspended for using a "discriminatory slur" directed at another coach.

Not the kind of distraction the team needs right now. Hope there is nothing to it and he was just pointing out an obnoxious fan to security or something like that.

From what I have read, a guy was harassing Coffey from behind the glass and Coffey pointed him out to get security to remove him.
I guess you have to investigate it but sure looks like a fan was pissed he got tossed, I am sure those tickets cost him a lot so he throws the racial card. This is the fan base egging a 10 yr old on too scream swear words into a video that they posted online cheering and dancing around him.

StoryI heard was Coffey said "nice hat" to a dude in an Indian headdress.
Not clear whether it was East Indian or native Indian.

Should be tons of video evidence to either find him guilty, or exonerate him.
It’d be very stupid of Coffey to do something like this.
